In Mount Vernon office got me in in as an emergency. Saw that I needed surgery. They scheduled me in the Neil Ave address for the next day. The two ladies at the front desk couldn't have been any nicer. Couldn't have been any more efficient. In this day and age. When people act like it's just my job I can do what I want they were great. They actually act like they're having fun. The doctor was very professional. Very clean place. I will do follow up at the Mount Vernon office in one week. No complaints

After reading some recent reviews about this practice, we were left with strong feeling's of uncertainty. The appointment was "urgent" and was already scheduled so we decided to keep it. The staff was genuinely kind and professional. Shannon was over the top during pre-testing, finalized by Dr. Patels expertise. I give a 5 star to all. The office is in a great location and clean. Valet parking could use a face-lift, it was somewhat confusing with no outside attendant.

IMPORTANT REVIEW; PLEASE READ! I would NOT take my pet rock to see these guys. Any of them. The entire practice lacks in efficiently and value of their patients time. That's the first complaint, and it's a huge problem for them. Read the other reviews. Next, and the more important part. I had retina surgery with them and they have been less than great. They don't care about you as a patient and it shows over and over. I've had complication after complication and I would never trust them to touch your eye. My situation was an emergency or I would have NEVER EVER gone to them after reading the reviews. My biggest advice, this is a major complication and scary thing to go through; choose an office that will care and take good care of you. This is an important as picking a partner. It's your vision and I just can't believe an office like this continues to get patients. Lastly, to add; Doctor Kim is the coldest, most un-comforting doctor I've seen in all my years. He makes you feel like it's a bother that his has to do his job and see you. Do your research and be selective with your doctor like you are with other choices in life.

2/13/23: JD, Sara, Dr Kim and the rest of the team at Neil Ave location are totally awesome!!!!! I highly recommend this location!!!! I've been going there since 2018. My eyeballs are now stable thanks to excellent care. I just go for checkups every 4 mos. Stay healthy and your eyeballs will treat you well!

Been going here for a couple years now. I dealt with the very loooooongggg wait time because I actually liked the doctor. Until today. My husband took my son to his appointment because I am sick. Well apparently the doctor came in & "fired us" from his practice because we missed an appointment a few months back. Mind you the last appointment we had was the day my dog was scheduled to be put to sleep. But because I take my sons health very seriously I still took him to this appointment. I was a mess & don't remember everything from that day. Normally we schedule with this doctor every 6 months. So I made his appointment back in June for this day. But apparently the doctor said we were supposed to be back in 8 weeks not 6 months. So because of this misunderstanding he "fired us" from his practice & didn't even see my son! Not happy at all! That was absolutley NOT PROFESSIONAL!

I have had eye issues since 7 and am very familiar with my eye health. I recently moved 3hrs from either of my ophthalmologists (2 of the best in country whom I love and have worked with for a decade) so I had to (reluctantly) get a new one. I was referred here because of my glaucoma, uveitis, history of retinal detachment, and a cataract. After me going over my medical history with them for an hour and a half before seeing a doctor, I then had the doctor attempt to "diagnose" me with a genetic defect I've known about since I was 6 and was the cause for 9 eye surgeries that I went in detail with them about. I made them aware of my cataract, as I was told 2 years ago that within a year I would need surgery. It has now gotten so bad that I will likely need a lens replacement in my good eye and cannot see to drive at night and had to get my prescription remade 3 times to barely correct my poor vision. When I saw the doctor, I was literally laughed out of the room by her and the support staff and told "good luck finding anyone who will operate on you" and "don't bother seeing a specialist here because they're gonna tell you no. our doctors already classified it as mild" and continues to laugh at me and speak to me rudely. Being a young woman with multiple disabilities and trying to find quality practitioners who treat you with respect and dignity is hard as it is, and to have two doctors here laugh me out of the room for eye issues that have caused me to have 9 surgeries, 1 year of intense steroidal treatment, septic shock, and having piloted experimental surgeries before the age of 10 that are now commonplace is so harmful and I hope they work on taking better regard to the overall feelings of their patients. Just because I am young and a woman does not mean I don't understand my health. I can only imagine the way they treat other vulnerable people. Do better.

This place has the worst customer facing staff there is. You can usually call after 8:30am and get a message that they don't open until 8:30. When you do get through you are always put on hold. How about hiring the number and type of people needed to do a good job and get them to show up on time in the morning?

I have been a patient at Midwest Retina for 4 years. Yes, you may have to wait and it's sometimes an inconvenience, but this group of doctors strive daily to save the eyesight of their patients. They have to work people in that have immediate urgent eye problems. you may, unfortunately, be the one that waits or you may be the urgent patient needing immediate attention. Be respectful of this great group of doctors they work hard you see!
