Not the experience I had hoped for at all. I went in with concern for persistent eye straining and vision changes that presented itself suddenly only the weekend before, I'm 28 and have not had a problem with vision before so obviously I was a little concerned. They were able to get me in that day on Monday when I called. My appointment was at 2:30 but I didn't get taken back until 3, which is fine as I was grateful to be getting seen at all. The nurse that took my history was friendly and understanding, but once she dilated my eyes the doctor didn't come in for a full hour after, and I'm understanding of running behind and wasn't bothered until the doctor was INCREDIBLY rude to me. By that time it was 4:45 and we're nearing closing time so she's rushing through everything with me, saying no disease is visible so she "doesn't know what to tell me" and is visibly frustrated by me asking more questions. Like.... I'm sorry I've never experienced these changes before and am unfamiliar with what to do or what to expect? She spoke to me as if my concerns were irrational and everything she was telling me was common sense because she was trying to fly out the door after being so behind on all her appointments and I was basically inconveniencing her at that point. It was clear she just wanted me gone, so I didn't bother to press further questions. I was pretty much shoved out the door, nobody helped walk me up to the front or even offered me shaded glasses for my dilation until I went up front and the receptionist handed them to me!
I would NEVER recommend going here! Find a better ophthalmologist if you want someone who is willing to be a little more compassionate!
Wow, receptionists are the worst, no call backs, bad information and I got hung up on, thankfully my appointment is at the OKC Dean McGee, because I damn sure will never go to the Lawton office.
I'\nVe never had any problems there since i've been going
I decided to give this company another chance after having walked out a few years ago because they had scheduled everyone in the State for the same day and a line of people waiting out into the hall with patients standing along the wall in the waiting room! I recently got lucky and had made an appointment on a day or time that didn't cause much waiting. However, they missed steps and told me I needed to schedule another appointment. My newly scheduled appointment to make up for what they forgot to do at the last, I was told there was a "short wait". Only an hour. I had gotten up early and drove the trip to be there and decided to wait. A full waiting room and multiple patients ahead of me, an hour and forty minutes of sitting and wondering why I had to wait when I was there because they made mistakes at my last appointment, while I read the terrible Google reviews in regard to years of scheduling issues... I finally went to tell the front desk I would have to just cancel. She just looked at me and said "Ok." and answered the phone while ignoring me standing there. I walked out. I can only assume that this company is in it for the money and not quality care.
They like to leave you in the exam room for over an hour and not check in and they weren't even busy they were literally just standing in the hall talking to each other. I decided to leave after a great deal of time passed and was still in the back as I walked by the two ladies chatting were kind enough to tell me how find the exit
Sitting in the waiting room for an hour, no other patients, still haven't been seen and they're front desk lady in optical shop keeps coughing and lowering her mask. Very uncomfortable.
Great nursing staff & reception, pretty fast paced to get you in but they put in the dilation drops & left me in a room for 2 HOURS. The doctor I got wasn't very friendly either (I got Dr. Hausheer) for the 5 minutes I actually GOT to see her. She seemed VERY short tempered and wanted out as quickly as possible, but I could've just caught her on a busy/bad day, so I can't fault her for that as I don't know how her usual demeanor is. I got an eye exam there about 5-7 months ago. The reason I had to subtract a star is simple:
With my insurance, I was told the exam would cost a flat $30. Simple enough - I saved it, & I brought cash in with me. When everything was said and done, I went to pay my bill with the receptionist. I began to hand her the $30. She waved it away & told me, "No. You're good." I was skeptical since they told me it'd be $30 in advance & she reassured me I was fine. An ENTIRE month after the appointment, I started receiving calls from their office telling me I had to pay a bill with them - they wanted the $30 after all! & I have been getting 1 call a week from them demanding their money -that they refused- EVER SINCE!
I honestly don't understand the complaints. Yes you do have to wait a little longer on some visits, but after becoming a patient, it is understandable as they are very thorough once you get back and the technicians take over. I'm sure they spend that amount of time with each and every patient depending on their individual situation, which takes time and patients, , of course we may have to wait our turn in the waiting room at times. They spend a lot of time doing tests and explaining things well. My previous Dr, didn't ever in 10 years seem to be as thorough in his testing, and you still had to wait there too. Dr Warn is a lovely Doctor and explains things well; also and seems to know her stuff.
