Eye Medical Group

I've been a patient at Eye Medical Group for almost two years, and I can honestly say it's on a completely different level from a regular optical shop or basic eye exam place. This is a true advanced medical and surgical eye care practice, with a long list of procedures available. I go a few times a year to especially check my retinal health, for which I get checked on all the latest high tech equipment, but also receive a very comprehensive overall eye health exam. I was even pleasantly surprised to have a skin lesion removed on my eyelid, something I thought I would have to go to a dermatologist for, but Dr. Solarzano did seamlessly and easily in his office. I have complete confidence in Dr. Solarzano's exams and advice. He takes the time to explain things, and truly cares for you as a person. He and all staff from the front desk to the assistants are friendly and professional, and I feel my eye health is in good hands here.

I have autoimmune conditions and have been putting off my eye exam for far too long. I finally worked up the energy to call and schedule an appointment and also clarify how my insurance works. The moment the staff member learned I am on SoonerCare, her attitude instantly changed. Every yes or no question was met with a dismissive "mmhmm," and when I calmly asked if there was an issue, she responded with a drawn-out "mmm" instead of a professional answer. There is absolutely no excuse for treating patients differently based on their insurance. I chose not to move forward with this office because I refuse to be spoken to like that. Everyone deserves respectful and compassionate care, regardless of what insurance they have or what they are going through medically. For context, I have extensive experience in the medical field and hold two degrees and multiple board certifications. Unfortunately, due to my health conditions, I am temporarily relying on SoonerCare while I work toward stability again. I am still a human being. Please remember that before you decide someone is "less than" because of a health plan. Some people already feel ashamed when they are on Medicaid programs. That does not mean we should silently accept poor treatment. We deserve better, and I will be the voice for anyone who feels like they cannot speak up for themselves. I will be taking my business somewhere that values patients for more than their insurance coverage. I will also be contacting my eye insurance provider to report this interaction. Do better.

I love that they do more than eye exams. I received a thorough eye exam with optical images, eye pressure was taken because of my condition. And I didn't know they did any of this. I am so glad I came here. The Doctor was very attentive and did everything. The ladies upfront are very professional and friendly. I love the pair of glasses I chose I can't wait to receive them. My son also chose a nice looking pair as well. I absolutely recommend.

What a sweet spirit in this place. The staff is so friendly and sweet. The Doctor is awesome and very thorough. They do so much more than just eye exams.

I saw Dr. Solarzano today and it was a wonderful visit! The staff was very nice and the process of getting my eye exam and my contacts/glasses prescription was easy and smooth. Loved it! Dr. was super sweet!!

The eye care was good, but the doctor started talking to me about his political opinions during my appointment. I didn't ask him for his opinions, nor did I think politics would come up at a doctor's appointment, but he was going on about his views for a few minutes and I just had to sit there. Pretty uncomfortable experience.

I have been very impressed with Eye Medical Group! I felt like I was in the best hands. I appreciate their concern for the health of my eyes and their honest recommendations. They provide an awesome selection of glasses at reasonable prices and thorough medical eye services. My grandmother had her secondary cataract laser surgery performed by Dr. Solorzano which truly did wonders for her vision. Dr. Solorzano is wonderful, knowledgeable, and gives great assurance to our family. The staff there is also very polite and friendly.
