Ideal Eye Care, Dr. Anna Hughes

I love this place. Everyone is so very nice. My husband and I feel like we get taken better care of here than any place we've ever been to. We feel like the doctor does a much better examination than we've had before. We highly recommend Ideal Eye Care.

Dr. Hughes is super sweet and ultra smart. She answered all my questions (and there were many): comparisons of prescription reading glasses vs. over -the -counter, my cataracts, night driving issues,... She has earned my complete faith. And Ms. Shelly is more than a receptionist. She is thoroughly competent as well as having great sense of style and practicality (She helped me pick out a perfect frame) and guided me with my insurance benefits. Marisa was attentive and efficient too. Ideal Eye Care is the ideal model of a company!

Not that long ago when I landed here in Oklahoma, it was a co-worker who recommended Ideal Eye Care to me; and I'm now paying that kindness forward by recommending IEC to anyone finding their way to this share. Why is Dr. Anna Hughes the very best? I have seen her for routine annual eye exams, and those unexpected visits of "what's going on with that in my eyes?" She has a tremendous depth of knowledge that always makes me feel one-hundred percent confident that I am receiving the very best care that anyone could ask for. She is thorough. She is patient with all of my questions. She shares her opinions, qualified by the science and facts, and makes recommendations that make me feel absolutely reassured that I am making the best choices for my eye care. She always explains everything in a way that resonates with me. She is present with me, never rushed. And their offices are beautifully zen-like, which enhances the overall experience that everyone gets to have when entering the doors of Ideal Eye Care. This is important, especially when you are spending extra time there, selecting a pair of glasses from their broad inventory. So, I hope this helps you when making a very important decision about who's going to care for your eyes. I have learned from Dr. Hughes so much about what our eyes can tell us about our overall health. It's so important to take care of your eyes, and to make sure that you have the very best care.

This place is okay, I didn't love it for a few reasons. My optometrist retired so I found this place and saw the great reviews so I scheduled an appointment. I need to have specific tests done to receive a medication and I voiced that with the lady that scheduled me. Came in for my initial appointment and that was okay but they had me schedule a follow-up appointment for those specific tests. Dr. Hughes wanted me back in two weeks but I couldn't get scheduled until four weeks out. Not the end of the world but mildly annoying since I scheduled my first appointment during the days that they do those tests so I could get what I needed done. If I was told that was the case I wouldn't be annoyed. I wasn't a fan of the contacts she suggested which is okay but I also don't think my Rx was right. Second appointment comes and I'm told it's three different tests and dilation. I'm used to one test and dilation isn't new to me but I HATED the peripheral vision test with the headset thing. It smashed my glasses into my face and it was incredibly uncomfortable the whole time which seemed like an eternity. Not to mention the awful beep everytime you hit the button for a flash. I've never had a headset test like that and honestly it's basically the whole reason of this review. The tech was very aware how uncomfortable I was and probably knew I was irritated. Now, I'd opt to not get my medication refilled to avoid this headset. I almost just walked out. Is there not a more comfortable way to do this..? Also getting my eyes dilated and looked at is fine but oh my gosh it also took an eternity and them knowing I have photosensitivity. I walked out unhappy and with a headache so I cancelled my next appt.

I love the visuals of the place, no pun intended. The mural on the outside was fun, the inside was super clean and organized. The staff was friendly and ready for me with all forms to go for my first visit. The view through the windows was nice as they have a little stroll garden in the back. The optometrist and technician was very patient and understanding of my new condition I've never experienced before and explained it very well. Definitely will continue to visit.

A low pressure experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Japanese garden, with added benefit of snow falling, eased my anxiety. Not a massive selection of glasses but had some I hadn't seen before and gave me the chance to try them on. I have found a new eye care home.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hughes at Ideal Eye Care since moving to Norman eight years ago. I am always impressed with her care and professionalism and recommend the practice without hesitation. I also want to mention the rest of the staff. They are all friendly, knowledgeable, and ALWAYS helpful.
