Dr. Kenneth W. Guthrie, O.D.

I have worn glasses my entire life and have never experienced anything like this. I went to this office instead of my regular eye doctor and it was an absolute mess from start to finish. I was given a new prescription and told my eyes had "changed a lot," which surprised me but I trusted the doctor. After filling the prescription, I quickly realized I could not see anything up close -- I couldn't even read my phone at arm's length. When I returned the next day to explain the issue, the solution I was given was to wear my old, broken glasses to see up close and the new ones for distance. That is not a realistic or acceptable solution. When I pushed back, I was told the prescription could be changed, but then distance vision would suffer -- essentially trading one problem for another. I ultimately had to request my old prescription, which defeats the entire purpose of the visit. I now have new frames with my old prescription because the new one was unusable. To make matters worse, I attempted multiple times to speak with a manager and didn't receive a callback until a week later. That conversation was extremely unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue, she repeatedly shared personal details about her own life that were completely unrelated. I had to end the call myself. While waiting in the office, another patient came in experiencing the same issue -- unable to see out of their new glasses. After reading the reviews, it's clear this is not an isolated incident. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this office to read the reviews carefully and proceed with caution.

Dr. Guthrie is very kind, and very knowledgeable. I was low on money and couldn't afford to pay for eye dilation up front, but that did not stop him, he made sure I received his full services and was able to bill me. No one has ever done this for me before. He cared enough to be thorough. I am forever grateful and will continue to see him. Thank you to his staff as well.

Dr. Guthrie is the best OD one can find! I have patronized many OD's throughout my life and Dr. Guthrie is by far the most thorough, the kindest, and has the best sense of humor. I can't say enough good things about my experience with him and his staff. I felt welcomed and appreciated during my visit. I recommend this practice wholeheartedly!

I haven't been to the eye doctor in almost 10 years. Dr Guthrie and his staff were all so sweet and knowledgeable! Made the anxiety of going in so worth it. Front desk staff were super sweet & Dr Guthrie was so funny and eased any tension I had. Will be back for my next check up (may be another decade lol but nice to know they are there!)

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Guthrie for years. He is kind, attentive and is great with kids. It is unfortunate that his staff does not possess the same personality or willingness to take care of their patients as he does.The girl with the long black ponytail, who seems to handle the phones and the front desk should find a job that she enjoys. From a business standpoint, she is rude, condescending and is not the type of person I would ever hire or want to be my first point of contact in any type of professional setting. Her customer service is nonexistent and lack of enthusiasm when "helping" patients is apparent over the phone and even worse in person. After having multiple encounters with this individual, we will be finding care elsewhere.

I award Dr. Guthrie's staff one dubious star since there is not a zero option. Zero is what their promptness, courtesy, and willingness to help actually earns from a patient whose multiple calls were not answered and on another occasion answered over a week late. While her prescription was effective when filled at another location, contact lenses that were defective from their manufacturer were not a concern to them. I have neither the time nor the money to waste on those "nice" folks.

I have gone to see Dr Guthrie twice for my eye check ups. He does an amazing job and treats every one like they are family. He is very detailed and explains everything in detail. His staff is professional and friendly and his office is next door to eye mart so it's convenient to walk right over from his office to get your glasses made. I highly recommend Dr Guthrie and will continue to use his services.

I was misdiagnosed with glycoma by Dr. Guthrie and I found this out because I went for a second and third opinion and neither of the doctors at dean McGee or BVA advanced eye care could find glycoma. I felt like something was off when I was never prescribed any eye drops or anything and because I have keratoconus and was scheduled for cornea surgery he said that would fix everything. By this time I believe he should retire because if you all read others comments he has misdiagnosed and messed up prescriptions numerous times. I will be returning to Pearl vision to see Dr. Chase vervack he is amazing in my opinion they were just pricey but I'd rather pay more for accurate information.
