Dr. Russell D. Crain, MD

Dr Crain is very thorough and explains things so you can understand them. I recently had a weekend (Sunday). eye emergency and Dr Crain returned my call immediately, then called in a prescription, and said be in my office first thing Monday morning I'll work you in! Very patient oriented and conservative. He's a blessed!!

I truly want to be able to give a better review. I was so happy that Dr Crain got me in so quickly with a painful eye issue. The office is small and full. It is like musical chairs. They call you to a room, do an eye exam, then you are taken to another room, then send you back to the waiting room, then call you back again. Dr Crain did not elaborate while he was doing the exam. He gave me a diagnosis with no information my first visit. I asked his staff to write down my diagnosis so I could research. They wrote down uveitis and I'm certain that was what he said. (He does not cater to cowards) On my second appointment, I state I want to talk about my concerns and fears before our exam because of anxiety, he declined, then proceeded to do the exam. Afterwards, I express my concerns, then he tells me that he did not say uveitis, that I had episcleritis. Within a week, I was in extreme sever pain, they got me in same day, that I called. The wait took an hour of musical chairs again. He examines me again, to say he can't treat me, he apologized to me and he explained he has to send me to DM eye Institute. He does not give me a diagnosis but I hear him tell the technician to call and tell them it is an urgent referral for scleritis. I was pain free within 24 hours of seeing the new optomologist. I am very disappointed that I had to endure so much pain as long as I did. He did apologize to me that he was unable to make me better. Maybe, if he focused on quality over quantity, he may have taken the time to really hear me on the first visit, this may have prevented my suffering as long as it did. I am grateful that he did finally figure out my issue, that is the reason for the 3 stars otherwise it would be a 1

Dr Crain is friendly but he's always in a hurry and gives almost no information about any condition you have. I recommend finding another doctor.

Got me in very quickly and gave me a treatment right away to relieve my eye pain. Very friendly and listened to my concerns.

This place sucks the people working this place don't ever get anything right, front desk people are never on same page, never can get an answer from anyone much less a correct answer, can't put in orders for contacts, gives sample contacts that are expired. Most difficult place to work with if you wanna get your eyes checked or get anything for em don't go here!

I have to change my 5 stars review. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by the optical department at your facility. On 11/6, I visited the optical department with my father to purchase a pair of glasses. I specifically inquired about the turnaround time for the glasses, as my father was scheduled to travel out of the country on 11/19. The staff member I spoke with assured me that the glasses would be ready within a week. My father, who does not have insurance, paid $440 out of pocket for the glasses without frame. On 11/15, I called to check on the status of the order and was informed that the staff member would call me back after checking with the lab. However, I did not receive a call back. On 11/19, my father departed for his trip without the glasses. Today, 11/21, I called again and was informed that the glasses would not be ready until 11/22 after 1 pm. This is unacceptable, as my father specifically needed the glasses for his trip. I am deeply frustrated by this situation, as my father has spent a significant amount of money for glasses that he is unable to use.

I found Dr. Crain initially by doing a Google search. I made an appointment since he had great reviews. I'm happy I did because my visit lived up to them. He was very professional and thorough in his explanations. The staff was very friendly and well organized. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

I was a new client and was able to get an appointment in 2 days. They were very efficient and thorough with their information. I love that I can use my health insurance too. Highly recommend.
