Owasso Eye Institute

I had a wonderful experience! Everyone was super kind. I was in and out quickly. I saw Dr. Bennett, and he was great. I've had some issues with other eye clinics finding my insurance and the staff found it right away without problems. I highly recommend!

I want to start out by saying my experiences inside the office have been fine: friendly staff and all that, although, if memory serves, the eye exam chairs were too narrow. My complaint is the efficiency and competency of the office staff, particularly on the phone. For a long time, I had unique in-house insurance through a major employer in the Tulsa region. It was technically HMO, but the insurance employees were also employees of that same business - we all had one company signing our checks - and it was easy to talk to them and reason with them if I had any issues at all. The staff at Owasso Eye Institute, despite having served me for at least two years prior with the same exact insurance, one year said, "Oh no, we don't work with THAT insurance." I, of course, replied, "You did last year, and the year before that. What changed? -- because it wasn't my insurance. And why do you need my medical insurance anyway, when you don't know I'll need anything beyond vision care?" That had them fumbling quite a bit. She said she'd have to speak to her office manager, so I was put on hold and handed off to someone else, who tersely told me they don't accept my insurance because it's an HMO and they don't accept outside referrals. I said they accept referrals from specialists all the time, and again, they don't know I'll need any medical insurance coverage. I then said I'd speak to my insurance about it, so I did, and guess what? This place is in-network, even for medical. I had my insurance provider call them and I called as well. When they spoke to insurance, they were all green lights and smiles. When they spoke to me, suddenly, they were red again. Amazing how that works, huh? I want to stress again that if you have basic insurance through standard companies or Medicare/Aid, you're probably fine, because they deal with that enough to not have to apply any critical thinking toward it. And they're nice enough, as long as you don't test their parroted script of "yes" or "no" and "hello", "goodbye". Their doctors seemed competent, too. But there is no medical care in the US cheap enough to warrant being this basic, vision or otherwise. We pay so much for our insurance and our copays and premiums and deductibles, and then we pay again for our glasses (frames and lenses) and contacts just for the privilege of SIGHT, that you'd think they could give us the courtesy of respecting our intellectual capacities by matching them with a brain cell or two of their own. How dare we ask them to think about the things we are saying before repeating a broken record, and how dare we ask them to do their jobs and stand by the things they already arranged with and promised our insurance companies? We must be so spoiled, for wanting competent and kind office staff as well as quality vision care. The nerve! /s

Incompetent eye center. Continuously calculated my insurance wrong (I had to call to make sure it was done right) my trial contact order was incorrect or they forgot to order them so I had to wait an extra week. I went to get my prescription so I could have it filled somewhere else and it was incorrect!! I had ti have them re write it in front of me. Incompetence and disorganized!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!

I have been using Premiere Optical next door to the "Owasso Eye Institute" for many years. I thought, why not see the Docs next door for my prescription? I am dual insured for vision, but since one of my insurances was not in network, they refused to provide services. Weird, never experienced or have had any issues with my insurance for vision before. Do not recommend. Especially since one of my insurances is "in network"!

My former eye care providers said they couldn't see me for seven months and recommended Owasso Eye Institute. When I phoned, they had a cancellation and offered to see me the next day! And things got even better from there. From the receptionist who initially greeted me, to Alex who did the preliminary intake work, to the knowledgeable and very personable Dr. Kyle Bennet, and through checkout, everyone was friendly, quick, and more than competent, conveying no sense of being too rushed to answer all my questions. I happily choose them to be my new eyecare providers!

Dr. Edwards is fantastic. He found an abraision on my right eye after cataract removal at another facility. Then i developed iritis in the same eye. He took fantastic care of my eye. I had several appointments and he spent time explaining everything to me at each appointment. His staff is great as well. If you are looking for a great team to care for your eyes i can whole heartedly recommend The Owasso Eye Institute. Thank you for saving my eye sight!

I give 3 stars to get here, primarily I would rate highly, I've never encountered any problems until now. I've been a patient for 10 years this year, or there about. I got a new wife 2 years ago. I called for my yearly appointment and to make her one too. We have eyemed insurance. They are not taking new patients with eyemed right now. What's that mean, maybe later?. Anyway, if she can't go, I won't go. So, if you are new, have a new wife, or a new child and have eyemed, look elsewhere.

Went in for a typical eye exam and couldn't help but notice how smoothly things went. I was seen on time by friendly, knowledgeable personnel (Alex & Dr. Bennett) and it really couldn't have gone any better. In particular, Dr. Bennett was exceptionally friendly and was able to clearly explain and expand on certain aspects of my eyesight and eyelids that other doctors have not.
