Wonderful team and experience. My 8 year old son and I both had great personal experiences with Dr. Bruce. The exams are very comprehensive and far more than what you get from a typical eye doctor. Dr. Bruce and his team also specialize in vision changes due to brain injuries, and we share a lot of mutual patients who are very pleased with the care they are getting from his team. He offers vision exercise programs, special lenses, light therapy and more. Best of the best!
I have been a patience of Northwest EyeCare Professionals for the past two years. Dr. Bruce is incredible. He is thorough and caring. The professionalism of the whole office staff is amazing. I do not have enough words to describe my experience at this facility beyond five plus stars
We appreciate this clinic for its offerings of vision therapy. Our work with the vision therapist was excellent and she was very patient with our son and managed to keep him engaged, even after a long day at school, which isn't easy for an active little guy.
Our experience with the professional and administrative side of this practice has been nothing but frustrating. We understood that vision therapy was not covered by our insurance plan, which was not an issue. We didn't mind paying out-of-pocket. However, the vision therapy still counted towards our deductible for the year so from the beginning, we requested that the appointments be first bill to our insurance company. We were told this wouldn't be a problem. We received a bill for the first six appointments and I called to inquire whether it was submitted to insurance and was told that it was. I then paid this bill only to learn that it was never submitted to my insurance company. I then attempted to submit the claim to insurance and it was rejected and my insurance company advised that it had to be submitted by the provider as they are an in network provider, even if the services aren't covered. I exchanged emails and phone calls with the contact in the billing department and explained this and was again assured that it would be submitted to insurance. It never was.
We then received a bill for the following six appointments, and I immediately contacted the office to explain that it had to go to insurance and that there was a problem with the previous bill which did not go to insurance and therefore the fees were not counted towards our deductible. I was told by the person who called that they would "look into it ". About a month later I received another phone call about paying the bill and I again explained the situation and I also forwarded the emails I had exchanged with the previous billing person. I was then told that this billing person was no longer at the practice and that's why I had never received a response. This person told me that they would look into it, but that they typically don't bill insurance for vision therapy appointments, as they are not covered. I explained that our appointments had to be submitted and I was advised before we began the therapy that they would be submitted. This person never responded via email or phone call to explain what the plan was to get our vision therapy appointment submitted to insurance. Then before our last appointment our poor vision therapist contacted us to tell us that she was told she could no longer see our child until the bill was paid.
The complete lack of professionalism in this situation astounded us. Chaotic and inconsistent communication and zero follow through despite numerous emails and phone calls about the issue. Then, rather than resolving the problem by submitting the bills to insurance, they pull in the vision therapist and put them in the middle of the situation. The entire situation sounds like a case of people not wanting to do their job and passing the situation on to the next person to avoid the work.
We explained numerous times that we were happy to pay the bill and had no problem paying the bill. We just needed to be assured that they followed the needed requirement and submitted it to our insurance first. The administrative hassle of dealing with this practice and the disorganization on their administrative side, completely overshadowed the positive experience that we had with the wonderful vision therapist. I then later realized going through yelp reviews and a better business complaint process, that several other patients had a very similar experience with insurance billing.
If you need your medical insurance billed for your vision therapy appointments, I recommend getting it in writing in advance before beginning your vision therapy appointments. There are very few options for vision therapy in the Portland area so you don't really have a way around not working with this clinic and their therapists are incredible but there's a lot of disorganization on the administrative side.
The staff is extremely awesome. The docs are fantastic and are very knowledgeable abt how TBI can impact vision. After my many concussions, they are thoughtful abt how my eyes get tired after lots of testing and lights. I've only had that level of treatment from here & never from any other eye doctor. Hands down Stormi is FABULOUS and a magician when helping pick out frames. We have a great understanding and I have forever been pushed outside the 'bread and butter' normal frame. I always get frames that pop and the compliments on my frames from strangers never cease. I love the whole crew
The staff at NW Eye Care are a delight! They are very professional and thorough as well as caring and mindful. Dr W was very attentive and did a great job to ease my mind during the exam. I highly recommend the team at NW Eyecare Center Professionals to everyone.
LOVE my eye doctor but good luck getting any light therapy for vision therapy. You will be put on a waiting list and making or cancelling/rescheduling is a nightmare. It was not always like this- previously, I would have highy recommended the Clackamas office high across the board, but the only staff I perceive as highly and consistently professional is Anne, the main receptionist. Going into the office, staff seems friendly enough, but do not expect priority treatment for other services. Unfortunately, this is my most recent experience.
If you are searching for an exceptional optometrist, I highly and without hesitation recommend Dr. Bruce Wojciechowski and his team at Northwest Eye Care Professionals.
I was originally referred to Dr. Bruce in 2007 or 2008 after suffering a traumatic brain injury that severely affected my vision and caused significant photophobia (light sensitivity). From the very beginning, Dr. Bruce and his staff demonstrated genuine empathy for my overall health and recovery. The care I received was outstanding.
As part of my treatment, I underwent vision rehabilitation, which included prescription lenses specifically tinted to address the photophobia. Before the injury, my vision measured 15/20 in one eye and 20/20 in the other. Dr. Bruce recommended a six-week course of Vision Therapy--something that ultimately became one of the most important therapies in my entire recovery process. By following the program and continuing the recommended exercises, I was able to rehabilitate my vision back to the prescription level I had prior to the concussion.
Nearly eighteen years later, I returned because my eyesight had naturally deteriorated over time--partly due to age and partly due to the extensive computer work I do. Once again, the care was flawless. From check-in with the front desk to the exam with Dr. Bruce and the ordering of new prescription glasses, every step was friendly, efficient, and professional.
Earlier this year (2025), I saw a different optometrist in Sacramento and received two separate prescriptions--for everyday wear and for reading. Those lenses worked for a couple of weeks, but it soon became clear the prescriptions were not correct. Knowing I could trust Dr. Bruce, I scheduled an appointment with him. He immediately identified the issue: the Sacramento provider had not accounted for the prism correction I've needed since my head injury, nor had the prescription itself been properly calibrated.
Dr. Bruce corrected both problems. The prescription he provided was precise, and I have not seen this clearly in three or four years.
Please hear me when I say this: You will not find better eye care than what Dr. Bruce Wojciechowski and his team provide.
Thank you, Dr. Bruce, and thank you to your entire staff.
I have known Dr Bruce for over 30 years when he first helped me with some vision challenges. I have been a client through the years as NW Eye Care has grown. All good all the time.
