I have seen Dr. Gross for many years and have found him to be a terrible communicator on two occasions. The first time, his staff dilated my eyes and sent me to the waiting area to fill out a questionnaire. First, I could barely read it because my eyes were dilated. Secondly, the questionnaire was about what I wanted/expected out of cataract surgery. At that point, we hadn't even discussed the fact that I had cataracts. I wrote him a letter expressing my concerns and disappointment. Still I continued to see him and even had cataract surgery several years ago that went well. Yesterday i went in for a routine exam. My eyes tested just fine, but I mentioned that I've noticed slight blurring of words when I read. He said that sometimes occurs with people who've had mono-vision lens implants during cataract surgery as I did. That was all that was said. After the exam, I went to the front desk to check out. The receptionist handed me an appointment card and a prescription for glasses. Yet he never even told me he was prescribing glasses. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

Dr. Gross performed cataract surgery on my left eye, and, sadly, my vision is worse now than it was with the cataract. After this surgery, it is Dr. Gross' protocol to have the followup appointment with his optometrist. I found it almost impossible to get an appointment with him to talk to him about the problem with my vision post-surgery. I had to finally write him a letter and mark the envelope 'personal' in order to reach him. I did get an appointment after that and I brought my husband with me for moral support. Dr. Gross was very defensive. I told him, for example, that the word 'Bleach' in large red letters on a bottle of bleach on the countertop across the room was completely out of focus with my left eye. His response, and I quote, "Oh, I doubt that." The vision in my left eye is now out of focus at every distance. During the visit post surgery with Dr. Gross I tried to find out what happened, and all he could come up with was something I have heard on YouTube almost verbatim, apparently it is the fallback position for the ophthalmologist, "We don't guarantee perfection." To this, I said, "I did not expect perfection. I had hoped for improvement." The surgery itself is a an assembly line situation. I must say, one of the worst parts and most degrading parts waiting for the surgery was the various different aids and nurses who came in to put solution in my eye, and then put surgical tape over a patch on my eye to keep my eyes shut. Every 3 to 5 minutes, they came back to add solution and ripped off the tape. Post surgery the skin around my eye was puffy red with little red dots all over because of the multiple ripping off of the tape. It was dehumanizing, extremely painful, and really unnecessary. I know this is not a requirement because my previous cataract surgery was not done in this way. (Unfortunately, that Dr retired.) I do not recommend Dr. Gross. A great disappointment for me. I can't have the surgery redone without significant risk, so I am not going to do that. I was supposed to get a distance monofocal lens. Unfortunately now I cannot look in the distance clearly without glasses. I was a person who always had excellent vision my entire life. Dr. Gross tried to upsell me Lasik surgery as a half-solution I guess. Lasik surgery for a botched cataract surgery, using the facility in which he has a financial interest. No thank you.

Dr. Gross performed cataract surgery on both my eyes four months ago and he and his staff were all absolutely outstanding! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! My results have been miraculous. Dr. Gross, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you!

A very professional atmosphere from the moment you walk through the doors til you leave. Have not seen that in an establishment in a long time. I recommend them to everyone and a 5 star rating. Thanks for the comforting appointment.

I am very impressed with this office. The place is welcoming. Staff is competent, friendly. Dr Gross is wonderful. He explains things well. Would very much recommend.

This is a wonderful practice. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and very capable professionally.
