Jang Hyun Optometry

This morning I had an appointment and got Dr. A. Clark. I have what I like to call an "epic" prescription to correct my vision and she took extra time to work out what I needed (she even made herself a worksheet ahead of time to make sure she worked it out correctly) to fit me with the right prescription. She was personable, sweet, and so incredibly smart. I don't think I've had a better experience during an exam ever. The folks in Costco Optical were also great & I didn't mind the wait to get my prescription communicated to the lab accurately -- I don't recall the gal's name but she was also part of this great experience. I've always had good experiences here but this one was top notch.

I was discriminated against by jang hyun and his 2 female workers because I wasn't able to wear a mask due to a disability. I signed my paperwork and was then told they were unable to sanitize the equipment if I wasn't wearing a mask( that's concerning). I asked for an accomidation because I wasn't able to, and I needed an eye exam for my eye health care. After asking a few more times for clarification because no one told me I must wear 1, even with a disability, and there was no sign posted, or policy online or in person, I asked if he was discriminating against me because of no mask, he said " yes I am" as he popped his head out of his office. Clear as day admitted it. He and his staff were very unprofessional. I asked for a written letter stating that, and he said sure, yes. I requested he revise it to say the there was no postings of the mask policy for people with disabilities with the date included and the woman took the paper and threw it to the side and stood looking scorned waiting for the other to print.. I am so embarrassed, and because I'm not able to comply to their imaginary standards not written anywhere, I left without an exam, in tears. This is wrong. No business should treat people with needs this way. I would reccomend if anyone have a disability and is unable to wear a mask you find a business that can legally accommodate you. I will be moving on this. According to the ADA I have a right to get health care without discrimination. Shame on these people.

Reasonable priced eye exams and they take insurance. Can usually can get an appointment within 2-3 weeks.

Dr. Jang Hyun is a nice guy and a good optometrist.
