I would like to begin with heavy emphasis on the kindness of the two receptionists! They are two of the sweetest women to ever greet me into a business. However, nothing I type could ever truly begin to fully grasp my experience with the doctor. I go in as a new patient to get a new contact and glasses prescription with my two year old (I know, scary!) and my infant in a carrier. They both sit silently for the first 10 minutes of me going through the vision machines at the start of my visit. As I get moved to the room with the doctor, I'm then asked if my two year old could sit up front during my exam with the strangers I had just met. I think not. When the doctor is told that is not happening and that she could sit on a chair by me, a remark similar to "well that's not going to work, but okay," was made. I then get asked why I wear contacts, not glasses, why I haven't paid 10k out of pocket for lasik, asked why I brought no paperwork from my old eye doctor (never once has a doctor needed previous paperwork to give me a new prescription), and told to not let my toddler touch anything because "umm, that is VERY expensive equipment!" I realize toddlers are unpredictable, but mine sat silently in a chair and never moved during the entire exam. Every single sentence was followed up with "but it's your money, do what you want with it." Never in my life have I been talked down to in such a condescending way. I do not do Google reviews, nor am I easily offended, but the other women in my community need to steer clear. I only went here because it was the closest location my insurance would cover, but I sincerely wish I would have read the review before to save my daughters from the most disgusting display of misogyny.

Doctor tells it like it is. Has saved me money once or twice. The ladies at the front are great. My glasses broke once and they got me a free replacement

If you want to get talked down to please make an appointment. Never in my life have I ever felt like punching an optometrist but this guy really tops the charts. No wonder everyone has to drive into the valley for quality care.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I've been a patient for several years and have always found the staff to be competent and friendly. Dr. Dan is not only competent; he's honest -- when you have a condition that doesn't have an easy fix, he will tell you. That's not rude; it's professionalism. Yes, I've had glasses made up that were incorrect, but it was the fault of the lab, not the Doctor or staff. It's a small operation that's not open every day, but they do good work.

Doctor seems to think its okay to talk down to women. Both adult daughters and wife have had serious bad experiences. Scary in this day and age but do not send your wife or daughter here alone. The doctor will talk down to them. Wife went in for an eye exam and when asked why she was there the doctor replied "tell me why your really here" was humiliated by the doctor trying to prove a point. Daughter was asked similar when she went in for a re-exam and new glasses. Was told she didn't really need an exam for new glasses and she was wasting his time. (Insurance requires a new exam after 2 years to get new glasses) we will be canceling current orders and taking all 6 family members to anywhere else we can find. Do not spend your money here.

I wanted the personally thank Sarah and Stephanie for their great customer service and quickly remedying a situation. The care that Dr Dan provides during the eye exam makes you feel like your part of a family. I highly recommend them for your vision needs.

Worst eye DR ever! He talks down to you making you feel stupid. They never answer there phone to make an appointment. Only came here because my insurance sent me there. I had caterax surgery, once my eye healed brought him the prescription the surgeon gave me. He felt it wasn't right even though an expert eye surgeon said my eye was healed and gave me the prescription. Wanted to do another eye exam himself. Because everyone has an extra $200 laying around just to feed his ego! Trust me, go to Lincoln City or Corvalis. Once i started calling around seeing who else takes my vision insurance, the more i herd from other offices about there reputation of unpleasant experiences.
