My eye exam was thorough, not rushed--and turns out, I can now see clearly compared to my drugstore readers. Big difference, highly recommend!

Dr. Lawson was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain everything about progressive lenses.The staff was also fantastic--friendly, attentive, and patient throughout the entire process.The quality of service was outstanding, and I could tell they genuinely care about their customers' needs. I came in for an eye exam after not having one done since I was a child. Caryn was a pleasure to work with, and creates a relaxing atmosphere in her shop. I love my experience with Bethany Optical! I came in for a Dry Eye Evaluation with Dr. Vo and she recommended IPL for my eyes. I'm loving my results and the laser technician Mary Ann is so knowledgeable and so comforting during my treatment. The care and professionalism of the Bethany team is number one! Came here wanting to support a local business but the experience when not using their optical shop for glasses (primary contact lens wearer - wanting backup glasses) was very unexpected. The gentleman who scheduled the appointment and Dr. Vo were kind and professional. Had glasses made elsewhere in hi index 1.67 and my partner struggled to tolerate them - things were going in and out of focus, issues with movement, and some other concerns. Scheduled a re-check which was prompt. He took time off work to meet with the office manager who listened to the concerns and then everything changed once it was mentioned that the glasses were made at Costco and she stated that was the issue. She took the glasses to inspect and when I spoke to her, she told me the issues were because the material was cr39 and should be hi index. When I clarified it was hi index, she stated it should be trivex. I was interrupted, cut off, and any concerns or questions I asked were dismissed and the issues experienced were again blamed on Costco. This is not standard at other practices - I left the eye field 3 years ago but was in ophthalmology for 7 years and in optical for 5 years prior to that. An Rx check/glasses recheck is an assessment of the concerns, confirming the Rx in the glasses, adjustments if needed to the glasses, and a quick recheck of the prescription itself. No recheck was done. We decided to pay again for a refraction elsewhere with optoms who happen to also teach optometry. We were prepared for the prescription to potentially be unchanged but felt it was worthwhile to rule that variable out. A new prescription (differing from the original) was issued with a recommendation to use cr39 for the higher Abbe value. My partner has since had new glasses made with the new prescription and can see without the issues from before. This experience was unfortunate and disappointing.

Dr. Lawson was so great to work with. Efficient and detailed. Enjoyed how thorough he was. Appreciate the care I received here.
