Dr. Ardeneanu was very thorough and checked to make sure my contacts were the right fit before I ordered them. He explained everything clearly. After having a horrible experience at a more expensive vision clinic, I am never straying from Costco optometry again. The people working at the check in desk are also very nice.

I'm so grateful to Dr. Dayna Yim & Nicole for the care and support they've given me during my recovery from scleral buckle eye surgery. While she wasn't the one who performed the surgery, Dr. Yim has been an essential part of my healing process--carefully monitoring my eye, helping me with contact lens fittings, and guiding me through each stage of recovery with patience and professionalism. She always takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure all my questions are answered, which has brought me a lot of peace of mind. Her assistant is just as fantastic--kind, efficient, and always ready to answer all of my questions! Together, they've made a stressful experience so much more manageable, and I truly appreciate their compassion, attention to detail, and dedication to my care. I highly recommend their office to anyone looking for knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely caring eye care professionals.

Costco always has the best pricing on contacts and the customer service here is always friendly. The in house optometrist raised their prices but I think they're still reasonable. Especially if you don't have insurance.

This review is for Dr. Yim at the Costco optical. She's fantastic!! I was stressing about upgrading to progressive lenses in my glasses, also wanting to explore the newer multi-focus contacts, but had reservations and a ton of questions. Dr Yim was a dream!! She kindly and patiently listened to, and answered all of my questions and concerns. And gave me multiple options to test before making my final decisions. Do note, while you do NOT have to have a Costco membership to come see Dr. Yim, you DO have to have a Costco membership to purchase contacts or glasses there. But you can also just take the prescription Dr Yim gives you and go elsewhere if you don't have, or do not want a Costco membership. It's still worth coming here to have your exam with Dr Yim.

Dr. Yim is the one you need to see. She gave me a perfect prescription for my glasses. She's really sweet and will answer all of your questions. She takes the time with you even at a busy Costco. You don't need to go to some expensive Optometrist when she's at this Costco. She's a must to see. I recommend her to my mom and she treated her great.

Best customer service around worth waiting a little bit longer for great prices and awesome people

I was a customer from that Portland Costco optical office for about 4 years. I switched frame glasses to eye contact lenses in this year. A broken eye contact lenses got stocked in my eye and it's been bothering for a while now. I visited their office to ask if they remove broken eye contact lenses. To my surprise Dr. Porter was available, open to check my eye during that visit. Getting into consideration I was there to ask if that's something they do in there, and the fact I didn't make any appointment. He checked my eye quickly and stated that didn't see any stocked or broken eye contact lenses. He mumbled something like "Get out of here" . If he didn't see anything, doesn't mean there's nothing stocked in there. My health is very important to me, and I think money was the issue. The fact he offering checking my eye without charging any money may have made him feeling he was wasting his time checking my eye. He should have charged me money so he can check my eye correctly, on the other side if he was not capable to assess correctly the problem he should have referred me to see a different doctor. It was very uncomfortable that situation for me. I don't recommend Dr. Porter, and would never come back again.
