Costco Vision Center

Very confusing with how they separate the Optical and Vison departments. One.takes insurance but the other doesn't?. Dr in vision department was rude and had a.nasty entitled tone. Another reason Costco is getting out of hand and you can shop anywhere else for the same prices or better.

Hands down...the best place to get glasses! Good selection, great friendly service, and most importantly better prices than any other optical place. And I always get glasses faster than the promised time. Not the best selection of frames to choose from but for the lower price, we're always able to find some frames that will work. And sometimes there is a long wait for help during peak times.

Awful experience with an optometrist or nurse named vicky. EXTREMELY RUDE when I called to inquire about my canceled appointment. I have never met a sassier and rude person.

This review is for both the optometrist and where you buy the frames. The optometrist's staff was efficient and friendly. I'm a wheelchair user and my scooter took up a lot of space in their tiny office, but they made room for me and made me feel welcome. The optometrist himself was GOOD. I move around a lot and have seen quite a number of optometrists - I recommend him whole heartedly. He didn't just check my eyes and make a prescription. He also took the time to understand what I do all day and created solutions. I felt like an individual who mattered, not just another patient. Out in the main vision center as I was picking out my frames, the place was packed! Again, everyone made sure I had room and could reach everything I wanted to. Best of all - these were the first glasses of my life that fit straight out of the box. I have an odd nose and normally glasses slip off no matter what the techs do - but these are great. I'm not in that area anymore, but when I need another pair, I'll consider travelling there for this kind of service and excellent prices.

The lenses and frames have reasonable prices. The opticians (Kaelin and her colleagues) have good knowledge of the products, make helpful suggestions and provide excellent customer service. They are also kind and patient. Will come back!

I thought my experience at the Tigard Costco was extraordinary! Special thanks to Gretchen and Justin who were patient, kind and extremely helpful! I had a lot of questions and needed help choosing the right glasses for my needs. The cost was very reasonable and Justin called the lab so I could get my glasses as soon as possible. Gretchen has a keen since of style and l highly recommend their services and vision center.

Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Frame and lens prices are much better than anywhere else I have compared. Progressive lenses at Costco will save you hundreds over prices at optical shops, and even with a tricky prescription they get it right. They offer coupons for multiple pairs, discounted youth glasses, all sorts of deals.

Can't help but feel I was scammed by this place. I called ahead of time asking for an appointment for dry eyes problems, not for glasses. I asked specifically if I could get help for dry eyes. The person said yes and I made an appointment. 80% of the appointment was various tests to see if I needed glasses. I told them I wasn't there for glasses but they insisted that I do it anyway because it's standard or whatever. So I do. At the end of it all, the optometrist says that I should try a Refresh eye gel, and if that doesn't work, I should see a dry eye specialist. What kind of crap is that? I said in advance that I wanted specific dry eye help. Of course, the eye gel didn't work, so now I'm back to square one. They should have told me over the phone that they specialize in glasses, and that if dry eyes were my only concern, I should see a dry eye specialist instead. But, they wanted to take my $110, THEN tell me to see a dry eye specialist. Thanks for scamming me.
