Dr Bacon was really great the two times I saw her. Unfortunately I think I'll be moving on, I was recently upsold on a pair of glasses and immediately regretted it (it was around $800 which seemed bananas but I was somehow talked into it). I called back that same day but they were closed and I left a message, and they called me back later. They wouldn't cancel it which was disappointing, since clearly they hadn't been made yet, but did allow a downgrade from progressive lenses, which I've never tried, to regular lenses (although still unclear why they could do that but not cancel it altogether). Basically, I originally just wanted a new basic pair of glasses and instead was shown a few pairs and after finding a pair I kind of liked I was given a "quote" with no options, just here's what it'd cost, and felt pressured to get something that I didn't really want because I didn't even know what was available, how things were priced, or even what my insurance was going to cover (she didn't go over any of that with me). I was just given a quote on paper like I was at a car dealership. It's my fault for not stopping it right there, but I was talked into it and was then required to pay in full upfront even before the glasses were made and wasn't able to cancel in time according to them. The worst part is that I hate my glasses, they fit my head but didn't realize that after a couple minutes wearing them in the real world that they didn't fit my nose correctly and constantly slide down my face. I went in a week or 2 later after emailing them, but the only thing they could do was adjust the part where it goes behind the ears, which wasn't going to work for me. The person that sold the glasses to me was the person who offered to adjust them, and she was visibly annoyed by me saying that adjustment wouldn't work for this issue and that I'm still not happy with these glasses. She said there's a final sales only policy there. Again I should have moved on before agreeing to that really high cost (even after the downgrade it was $500, and these are reading glasses) and didn't, but it was a high pressure experience that ultimately ended badly, so I feel the need to make this review. That's all, I don't want anything in return at this point, I just want to move on and eventually find a new place for my eye needs.

Dr. Annie was very kind and thorough. I was fitted in contact lenses and went through a training. The person who trained me on inserting and removing the lenses was really kind and patient. Afterwards I shopped for some frames. Good experience! Definitely recommend

Simply the best eye care in Portland! Dr. Bacon has been my optometrist for over 15 years now and I can't imagine going to anyone else for my eye care. She and her team are so kind, and I always look forward to SEEING them at my appointments. Best care anywhere!

They have a great selection of frames. I picked up my new progressive lenses a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. My transitions lenses get dark fast and work in the car. My coworker referred me and I couldn't be happier.

I was able to be seen quickly from Dr. Bacon for what seemed like a medical emergency. (It was just a bad stye) Front desk was very informative about my insurance coverage. Happy with the care I received.

Whole staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming . After Dr Annie completed my exam , they even helped me pick out the right frames. Great experience

The Eye Department rocks!! The team is very welcoming and thorough. I was extremely impressed by how well they performed. Dr. Bacon is such a great provider! So kind and funny. She took the time to explain everything and answered all of my questions. Thankfully, there are promotions that are helpful for individuals without insurance who need glasses. I was able to purchase multiple pairs. The opticians guided me throughout the entire experience. Advised me to get the best lenses per my prescription and every day needs while wearing glasses. I have never had lenses so clear and crisp! Thank you Eye Department for being such a wonderful office providing excellent care!

The Doctor is great and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately I had a hard time finding extended size glasses in my style so I had to find my glasses elsewhere.
