Today is july 17 th a week ago at a different eye clinic i had a exam and was told i need catarack surgery in both eyes. They sent referal and eye exam results to Emanuel clinic. I called yesterday after waiting 6 days with no response. I was told it takes time to respond. I was transferred to a recording and gave my info. And was told it would be another 8 to 10 day before they would get back to me and make a appointment. I need surgery now not in 2 to3 months. I will never contack this company after bad treatment like this . I will go elsewhere when a company knows how to treat people.

The doctors have been great so far, but most of the other staff are exceedingly rude. I first called to make an appointment last year sometime, after a referral by my primary care doctor to see a specific doctor at the clinic for some eye issues and to discuss how my medical history affects my eye health. The scheduler was very rude, first giving me an appointment and not telling me it was with a different provider: good thing I asked, to clarify. She then starts trying to argue with me that I don't need to see that doctor, she already knows that what I need is just a standard exam like everyone else, and I need to just see the first available person - which, sure, I bet all the providers are great at what they do. I just wasn't in a hurry, and had a specific name recommended to me. So, all I said in reply was that I don't mind waiting, and would prefer to see the person to whom I was recommended to see, to which she replied that I could go blind and have serious irreversible issues if I wait, so I should just pick someone else. Miraculously I have not gone blind yet, so I'm thankful! I'm glad I kept with the referral, as Dr. Acohido was great: listened to my concerns and gave me options to consider, and different solutions I could try. Second appointment, which was this year: I called to schedule, arrived, and the lady at the front desk this time was a nicer person than the last one. However, the assistant who takes you back to the exam room and asks you questions was extremely rude. She asks me what brings me in: I said my annual vision exam. She starts getting a rude and irritated tone, telling me: "We just saw you six months ago and you had an eye exam. We ALWAYS do those together." I explained that my vision test, to see if I need a new eye glasses prescription, was due now, one year from the last time I had the update. She continues to be rude, telling me "Well you didn't ask us to check it 6 month's ago! And your vision was 20/20 with your glasses." Two conflicting statements, but okay... So, I explain: my vision keeps changing each year and i have consistently needed a new prescription: it's been a year since the last change, so I would like to check my vision as I've noticed difficulty reading from a distance. She finally agrees to do the vision test, but is visibly upset by this, tells me I don't need it, and mockingly asks if I think I need to see the doctor, too. I told her I just needed the vision test, as that's exactly what I said when I scheduled the appointment. I told her sorry if it was confusing: I don't know how they normally do their appointments, as I'm relatively new to their clinic. She ignores the apology and continues on. Needless to say, yes, I did need my vision checked. My prescription was dramatically different from my last, even more so than the change between the prior two years. So hey, lady. No need to be a jerk to me because I just want my annual vision test. Blurry eyes make life difficult. So overall, the doctor I saw was great, but some of the other staff members need a serious attitude adjustment; also, you really need to advocate for yourself just to get your standard eye care at this place.

My Dr. referred me to this location, and I saw Dr. Alkahido. He was very nice and explained why I was having eye problems. I also had an eye exam, and everyone I dealt with was great! I went back a month later for a followup appt. I hope to return there when my next eye exam is due!
