St Johns Vision Clinic

Nice enough people, but I got an eye exam and ordered new glasses in December and was told 2 weeks. Three weeks go by, I call, never get a call back. Go in person, no glasses and they have no answers as to why. It is now March and I still have not received the glasses. If I call I get voicemail and never called back, and if you go in person they are closed during their stated business hours with no notice as to why. I love to support local businesses but if you need your glasses in a timely manner I cannot in good faith recommend coming here.

I like this clinic basically for one reason, excellent customer service. I have taken my glasses in for repairs twice and Amber who run the front of the clinic has made the repairs. Both times it was only a couple of bucks for the repairs and Amber took care of it in minutes in a polite and professional manner. I haven't seen Dr. Overton as a patient yet but because of the way I have been treated as a random walk-in I will be making an appointment with the Doctor when I need to upgrade my glasses.

I went in for an appointment on July 22nd and was told that my glasses would be ready in 1-2 weeks. Since then, I have called twice for updates, and both times I was told that they would check with the lab to see what's going on and get back to me. I have yet to hear back from anyone. This week, it's going to be two months since my appointment, and my insurance has paid $498 for simple glasses that I am apparently never going to receive. I'm not sure what kind of insurance scam this place is running, and I'm still trying to figure out my next steps for either getting a refund or my paid-for glasses, but I highly recommend that you save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Thank you for helping with the emergency I had, when the other eye care place in St Johns gave me a referral business card that would not have helped since I needed immediate assistance. My son broke the branch of his glasses 1 hour before flying out of the country for 3 weeks. The lady at the front desk was so helpful, and even though the glasses weren't complete fixable, they understood my trouble and added a bolt and a screw to the branch so that at least the glasses would function during my son's time away. Thank you for listening, assessing and fixing, you made my son's vacation!!

I called around to try and get the best price for contacts, and St. Johns Vision clinic was the only place that told me a cheap way to get an eye exam through my insurance some where else and come to them for the contact fitting. I would recommend them to anyone who is tired of all these other place just trying to up sell you and make more money on your disability. They are actually helpful.

Personal attention. Local tradition. Need new glasses. Old ones badly scratched. I have my Rx from VA. Service tech, Amber, is good with the options. Pricey to me because I usually get mine at VA. Wanted to contribute to local shop and my other expenses are lower than before pandemic. No car fuels. No eating out budget. What the hey. Insurance may help those who have it. Old building, good service. I would add a star if they cleaned the shop more. Parking is limited.

I stopped in here before I had any sort of insurance looking for somewhere that could sell me an eyeglass screw for the frame. I had an old pair of damaged glasses and no means to replace them. I asked the doctor if I could buy the hardware to repair them and how much it would cost. He took my glasses, Put in a new screw, adjusted the frames, and cleaned them for me absolutely free of charge. I couldn't believe the service and good will without even spending a dime. Couldn't recommend more highly.
