Had an appointment scheduled in April but due to an illness in which I was hospitalized, I had to reschedule for October. Arrived on the day of my rescheduled appointment and they had no record of the appointment, acknowledging the had changed their scheduling system, they rescheduled my appointment for the last day the year. Knowing it was my last chance to use my benefits, I impressed upon them the importance of the appointment. Arrived for my appointment today and the receptionists dog attempted to crawl into my lap. I have allergy induced asthma that can be triggered by dogs, and had provided that I was allergic to them on my electronic forms submitted earlier today. The assistant simply said they'd love to see me and that they'd keep the dog away from the exam room. That's not how asthma and air born allergies work. This is a sorry excuse for a medical facility.
I've had terrible experiences with this office. After a "mixup" with the person I was ordering my glasses from, they ended up not being ordered at all and I was told because they weren't sure I wanted them ordered. I was pretty clear I did, but okay. Incompetence irritates me. Then, they scheduled me, almost 6 months ago, for a follow up appointment because of something seen in my last eye exam. My appointment was scheduled for December 1st. They call me today, November 20th, to tell me they scheduled me at "a wrong time" and needed me to come in on December 22nd instead. Literally, what the heck is going on in there?! Maybe we could chalk the first incident to a "misunderstanding," but to schedule me incorrectly and then shove out my appointment to the end of the month because of THEIR mistake, it just feels like more incompetence to me.
I did try to cancel my rescheduled appointment after I initially went along with the rescheduling, but after stewing over it for a few minutes, I called the office back and immediately I was talking to a barely English speaking person working from home. I only know this because I asked why I kept hearing dogs barking in the background while I'm trying to cancel my appointment, and I not only did I have to keep repeating my information to them because they couldn't speak or understand English well, but they also told me they worked from home when I asked about the dogs barking. What is ridiculous about that is, it was just after 3pm in the afternoon, so why was a barely English speaking person being relied upon to handle their office's phones during regular business hours? Again, just the overall experience of dealing with multiple acts of incompetence/ unprofessionalism with this office is enough to turn me away and not go back, nor recommend them.
I discovered I had a very serious issue with my left eye. My provider called this office and I was seen immediately. Dr and all the staff were amazing. They were all very professional and caring. My eye required immediate surgery.
This practice seems professional in my opinion, they have restructured and seem to be doing a lot better than the last time I came in around 2 years ago. Kudos for the staff being well mannered.
If you plan on paying for your visit here with a FSA card don't plan on getting an itemized receipt anytime soon. My appointment was August 14 and I am still waiting. I will have to repay the amount of my visit and contacts in a month if I do not get this receipt from them to satisfy the FSA. Went back to their office today to check on the status of the receipt and was told that since they changed their billing service it could be up to a year.
When Dr, Leech and his staff were there this was never an issue. I always had an itemized statement when I picked up my contacts.
One star because you can't give it a zero on google...Very sad to see this place go downhill, my family has been coming to this office for over 20 years and when Dr. Leech and his staff were in charge, they were absolutely wonderful and amazing!! Great business and very professional and helpful! Customer service was stellar! However, sadly since the new transition and new staff coming in, I haven't been impressed from the start. From the get go they have been rude, unprofessional and very disorganized. They lie to customers and do not take accountability for what they say or do to customers or their glassses/frames. The opticians do not seem skilled or knowledgeable in what they do, as previous staff were well rounded...I thought it might get better after them getting established and was trying to be patient through the transition but it is sad to say the old atmosphere and staff friendliness is gone! :/ a completely different feeling and atmosphere, bummer. Due to these recent changes and situations, we are choosing to find a new optometrist and office. I was recently in the office and saw 2 other customers come in with the same things and complaints - saying you guys have done this several times to us and keep mixing up our prescriptions or telling us to come in, we drive here and then are either cancelled, turned away or told "no we didn't do that or say that". One lady has drove in on her lunch break because they called her to come in and when she got there, they had someone else's glasses for her that weren't even hers and had no explanation as to what to do, they then sent her out and told her she would have to come back another day when they could figure it out and find some answers for her. They had no answers or didn't have any compassion for her...they also broke my glasses, tried to hide it and then refused to replace them (well first lied and said they would replace them and after waiting a week, I called to check in and they told me no they wouldn't be replacing them).
I've been going to Dr. Leech for years! He's friendly, caring, and down-to-earth. His eye exams are extensive, and he always makes things right.
The most least compassionate office staff I have ever encountered. I had a bit of confusion regarding my child's eye appointment. I told the secretary that I lived outside phone service area and that I never received a message on my phone(I wasn't saying that she didn't call, just that I hadn't received message yet) and that's why we wasn't there at a certain time to fill out paperwork. Even though I was still there before the said appointment time. They turned me away even though I was there before the appointment time itself. She wasn't concerned at all that we drove a long distance or that my child needed glasses to see. And not to mention the eye doctor himself was sitting there listening to this conversation and talking to his staff about things outside of the office. He clearly was not in another appointment. I'm not understanding why we was turned away because I still could have filled out the paperwork and my daughter still could have been seen. I wonder what lie they told to my insurance company because we was there for the appointment and the office turned us away because ??? I became very upset with them and I'm sure they didn't even care why. Make sure you respond to their messages, and read them very carefully, because if there is any kind of miscommunication or misunderstanding s, they will not care or work with you. They do not care if you have had a hard time or even taking care of someone else, they do not want to hear it. They just don't care to work with you
