Dr. Way does an excellent job at explaining the tests and your options... and he's very kind! I had an excellent experience throughout the exam, choosing contacts & glasses, and the checkout process. I'm glad I gave Sam's Optical a try!

Very dissatisfied with service. Employees were more worried about placing a lunch order than helping a patient. Employees didn't seem to know how to use or understand how to check a patients eye insurance and ended up being charged for the price of exams. Their glasses and contacts are not covered under insurance and was not told prior to appointment.

Got a excellent eye exam almost a year ago. At altoona sam, Had to go back 3 times to get glasses right. 1st was wrong prescription 2nd was progressive lens were in wrong 3rd got it right, staff was anointed with me at this point. So i told them they were fine.. i adjusted them myself.got scratches on the lens tryed to order new lens "their company wasn't making glasses now" i get it covid ... They would let me know when they were. A buddy told me he got his replaced so stopped in and they were.... they ordered them they came in quick called me told me i didn't need a appointment just come in .when i went to the store the girl told me i did need a appointment.... i explained what I was told... told me i needed a appointment.. but she would give them to me. I took them. And will adjust them myself. After looking around for 15 minutes walked back and 2 employees were seated with noboby else there.after leaving and finding something in a cart in parking lot returning it to customer service. Noticed both employees were on break together........wow

Dr. Lombardo is very nice, but I have been waiting on my scripts to be faxed to me for the past four weeks. I called the middle of October as well as the beginning of November and still have not received them.
