Avoid!! I purchased my son's first pair of glasses here. At his next optometry appointment, the doctor was shocked to see that the glasses were made incorrectly. The lenses were switched (the stronger lens was in the good eye, weak lens in the bad eye). I'm thankful for the Dr as my son is only 5 and would not have been able to tell me the glasses were not working. When I brought them back to have them fixed- the employees were extremely rude about it. Although they fixed them free of charge, they did not apologize or admit any wrongdoing. For such an expensive place (glasses for $370 which per his optometrist is "borderline criminal") you would think they would at least make glasses correctly. We purchased an accurate pair afterwards at Warby Parker for 1/3 of this price.
Update: Rich, the owner, just called me with not only a sincere apology, but a full refund on the glasses. He was very kind, understanding and took full responsibility on behalf of his staff.
I usually don't post reviews, but I felt like I should warn others about my experience here. I came in with a valid prescription from my eye doctor and just wanted to have my glasses made. When I picked them up, the prescription felt funny which is normal when I get a new prescription, but Rich the owner said he would "fix it". When I picked them up again I was told the optician/owner Rich "adjusted" my prescription a little because he
thought it would help, which did not help. What concerns me most is that the person who made the change is not a doctor and doesn't have the proper medical training or license to alter a doctor's prescription. My eye doctor later confirmed the prescription had been changed without their approval. Because of this, I've filed a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania State Board of Optometry to make sure the situation is reviewed properly. I truly hope no one else experiences what I did. I just want others to be careful and make sure their glasses match their doctor's prescription exactly before leaving. Eye care is serious it's not something that should ever be changed by someone who isn't licensed to do so
I cannot say enough good things about Main Line Optical. (I can't believe I never reviewed them before!) Rich, the owner, knows his business! He is so quick to go to the wall and pick a perfect frame for those of us who have a hard time finding the right one. He also is so customer oriented. Rush jobs, not a problem. Special orders, not a problem. He really doesn't have "no" in his vocabulary. There is so much to choose from in his store, but even so, he will order other colors/sizes so you can try them all. Honestly one of the best stores I have been to. I've been going there for many, many years. My kids and my parents all go there too. Lots of friends go there from my recommendation. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
This business is nothing short of amazing. From the moment walking through the door everyone was helpful and welcoming. My infant son needed special glasses and has unique needs for getting the glasses to stay on his head. Rich (who I didn't know was the owner until weeks later) took the time to bring the glasses strap home and customize it to fit our babies head. The woman who helped us select the frames was phenomenal as well and sooo great with children. Can't recommend this place enough.
Hi Mainline Optical
I just wanted to say a big thank you for the fantastic job you did in fixing glasses.I had visited several Optical shops, and none of them were able to help-- but you did it in just one day! I brought my glasses in, and by the next day, they were good as new.
I truly appreciate your help and care.your shop is honestly the greatest thing since sliced bread!
Warm regards

For my entire childhood and adult life I've struggled to read books, screens, street signs, etc. I made the decision to undergo cataract surgery, and received two new glasses prescriptions (near and distance).
I didn't know where the best place was to get frames or lenses, but after visiting here, I am confident that there is no better option. I am beyond grateful that I made the choice to bring my prescriptions here.
I walked in shortly after they opened and was welcomed with open arms and kindness. India is the sweetest human being ever. Patient, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to speak with. I tried on a bunch of frames (probably half of the store) and she helped select a few options based on what I was looking for.
She answered all my questions and was fully transparent throughout the process. Mainline Optical offers incredible value & service. If I ever need lenses or an adjustment (adjustments are free), I will make the trip to come here.
Your eyes are an important investment, and Mainline Optical will take care of you.
Highly, highly recommend.
Main Line Optical not only has a fabulous array of frames. Rich, the owner is an absolute artisan. I brought in a pair of frames purchased out of our area. The bridge was a tad small and painful. He took his time and skills and opened it up so they fit me perfectly. If that isn't service!!!
Very grateful for Richard & the amazing care I received at Mainline Optical! Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful and highly knowledgeable, taking exceptional care of me as first-time eyeglass wearer & truly going above and beyond to create the perfect coloring for my new glasses, which I am so excited to wear/rock! :) Thankful to have their continued support throughout my eye health & vision journey!!
