Dr. Alameda was able to get me in a 2 year clinical trial for my diagnosis. Not only did I get the "gold standard" treatment there was no cost to me. Dr. Alameda and his staff have been available and helpful throughout the process. Highly recommend.

Dr Almeida has performed 3 surgeries on my eyes, and I have been through a clinical trial with his team. I can not say enough positive words to describe their professionalism and patient care. They set the standard in advanved eye care and research.

Although it was incredibly nice Dr. Almeida and his staff offered me a free appointment/consultation, I'd say I'm overly disappointed with the lack of time and or his hurried ness in the appointment. I felt he was so rushed I couldn't hardly ask any questions. I was so hopeful and optimistic that this office was going to offer the latest and greatest advanced procedures and solutions, but alls I got was advice or recommendations to use refresh eye drops 4x a day. They let me know my eye pressure levels were 24/26 but downplayed the significance of it and didn't even explain ANY potential future complications or risks with that level. I had to Google it to find a level of 26 is SIGNIFICANTLY high and at a risk for optical nerve damage and glaucoma. He made a follow up appt for 3 months. Overall he's a nice guy and positive and reassuring, but I unfortunately didn't get the answers I'd hoped for or the time and attention. My issue is chronic blepharitis and MGD. Especially following a Chalazion surgery. My eye constantly feels dry and even strangely clicky and squishy as if the lid is getting stuck or scraping on my eyeball. He didn't recommend any MGD treatment as I'm too young for the expressing of the glands which I asked about. Nor recommend any potential drops to lower pressure and or health supplements that may help like Lutein and Zeaxanthin or others. Onto the next eye doctor to see if I can get more answers. Thx for the free consultation but wishing ya spent more time. I will potentially change review at 3 month follow up on hopes he can eventually get me in a trial or some research.

These studies move a person from merely accepting and tolerating AMD to proactivity, to possible discovery of a better treatment.
