Michael E. Sala, DO

I had a Chalazion removed from my left eyelid in March from Dr. Sala, about six months ago at the time of this writing and my eyelid is still droopy and has a ptosis to it. I don't know if it's just a common thing or if it was part of his procedure that he didn't get all of the fluid out or something else, but it really bums me out and has put me in major depression since as I can tell there is a difference between my eyelids now. I went back to him once since then and he said there is an edema or swelling still but it should not be there a half a year later. i wish my eyelids went back to even and normal looking but apparently they may never be the same again. it really upsets me. i hate to leave a poor review as a maybe its just part of it but im not sure. Either way, I'm highly disappointed they didn't have me leave with an eyepatch on. He said it probably wasn't necessary. My eye was so sore. I should've definitely left with an eyepatch on because I couldn't see a thing I feel like it should be standard. There's also not much on his background at all. He went to lecom and as far as I can see only did a residency at Erie metro health and no fellowships. He should've tried to less invasive option of a kenalog injection first. Update. Six months later. Persistent eye tenderness and for some reason it's squishy. As in I can press fluid from the eyelid. Something is not right however he removed that Chalazion and cauterized it. He should have did a kenalog injection as a least invasive method first. Always do that. Now I have this persistent eye issue that could have probably been avoided if he used an injection first. He never even did a fellowship according to his education and background like his brother Anthony did at an eye center. He doesn't even have a bio on their website still! That's crazy

I had a very positive experience here. Excellent customer service from front desk and intake people, very short wait time, typical wait time for dilated tests. I had a very typical eye exam and was happy with the overall experience. Doctor was straightforward, listened to my concerns, didn't hurry me or appear impatient which has been my experience in the past in other offices. Would recommend!

Mike is solid guy who truly cares about his patients. He was in contact witrh me no less than half a dozen times after getting me in for my CN4 palsy symptons. I would recommend him to any and everyone i know.

Staff is very friendly. Dr. Sala has a warm personality. He is thorough and explains medical details really well.

Nice, clean and positive place to go and get eyes check, nice people very kind they make u feel very comfortable.
