If I could give a negative rating I would. I went here to get my eyes checked by a well informed optician and told I needed a new pair of glasses. After ordering and paying ( higher than most ) I needed replacement lenses due to a scratch I didn't see at pickup. I went back to get them switched out and noticed sharp screws sticking out on both sides. I was told they use " universal " screws and could not service my glasses. Not only that but they were not adjusted properly either and the answer to that is that she did not want to break my frames!! ( frames are 1 month old) BEWARE ...THERE ARE BETTER PLACES THAN THIS!!! Percutaneous Barb's reply: No Dog Chewed up my frames ( they were slightly off to the left) after mentioning my dog had them in his mouth. 2. She never addressed the fact that they cannot put new lenses in GLASSES THEY SELL!! ( screws ) 3. Feel assured barb this matter will be discussed....Just in a legal setting

Tried for a week making an appointment. Said they were the only one there and would have to call me back. When they called I was unable to talk. I called again and they said they would call me right back. It's been 6 days. Nothing.

Being in my 50's and never having had prescription glasses before, I didn't know what to expect. Went in for an exam and the Doctor was very thorough and explained everything with a touch of humor. He handed me off to Annie who fashioned me a set of glasses in stylish frames which allowed me to see at a distance like I was back in my 20's! The service from start to finish was fantastic! Dr. Nardis and Annie were consummate professionals and I highly recommend American Eyewear in Gettysburg!

I have never had a glasses place get my glasses correct on the first try. Ever. Ive always had to get adjustments made after a new pair comes in at other places but NOT HERE! I got two pairs of glasses at separate times and both times my glasses came and I was able to walk out of the store with them on my face! No waiting for another adjustment or anything. The team there is so kind and amazing at what they do!!!! Highly recommend

I couldn't be more appreciative for their kindness to me. I had a slightly panicked moment when I believed my contact was suctioned to the top of my eye. I searched the closest glasses/contacts place and American Eyewear came up. I showed up, explained the situation and they got me right in to check. Took very little time, got the situation resolved and it cost next to nothing for this peace of mind. The doctor even let my daughter look at my eye through the microscope, which thrilled her to no end. I found them all very kind, patient, helpful and speedy during this ordeal.

My Family has been going here since we moved to Gettysburg almost 17 years ago. l would send others here. Great place , lots of variety on frames, can be pricey depending on one's style and like.The doctor is great with children and adults. very through

My daughter has used American Eyewear in Gettysburg in the past and has always said good things about them. I had never tried them until yesterday. My glasses were in serious need of adjusting and they immediately fixed the problem at no charge.....even though I didn't buy my glasses there! They were very friendly, courteous and professional. I liked the selection of frames they had available and I will be going back with my new prescription soon! The prices on the frames seemed reasonable as well. THANKS!
