HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I've been seeing Dr. Whitlock for my annual eye exams for years, and he is truly one of a kind. From the moment you walk through the door, he makes you feel completely at ease. His wit, warmth, and genuine personality turn what could be a routine appointment into something you actually look forward to.
He explains everything clearly, never rushes you, and somehow manages to make the whole experience enjoyable. It's rare to find a doctor who blends professionalism with such a fun, comforting presence, but Dr. Whitlock does it effortlessly.
If you're looking for an eye doctor who truly cares, keeps you laughing, and makes you feel comfortable from start to finish, Dr. Whitlock is absolutely the one to see.
My only complaint would be to have the staff person checking you in be a little more welcoming and friendly.

The visit overall was ok, Dr Whitlock was very kind, friendly, and very professional, just as we expected. However the reception/staff member (white male, didn't catch a name) checking us in was not friendly. We walked in and were directed to the check-in desk for our scheduled appointment by a friendly staff member (black male), and the staff member was busy at the desk and didn't even look up at us while we were standing there, and just asked if we needed something in a cold and unfriendly manner. It was far from welcoming, and put off our experience and our enjoyment of arriving to have an exam and get new glasses. We considered leaving at that initial moment but decided to stay b/c we were hoping maybe it gets better with the doctor/others. He was very stern the entire process of preliminary exams and lacked any friendly manner expected in this type of environment. The female receptionist checking us out after the exam was very kind and friendly as well. I only gave it 3 stars b/c of the doctor and other staff members.

Dr. Whitlock is the best. I've been coming here for my eye exams for the past 6 years but have been wearing glasses for over 25 years and he is my favorite optometrist ever. He's thorough and kind. Mike, the glasses salesman, was helpful and pleasant.

There was a problem, practically the whole visit for the receptionist. She stated that she was unable to access my account and the visit was not put in the system correctly, thereby causing a longer wait time to get checked in.
Then she kept referring to everything being the same as last year and I didn't remember what I was the same from last year because I didn't have that information right at my disposal.
The doctor was good and I was glad that the testing was provided.
I didn't get eyedrop in my eye or my pupils dilated to do those tests so I'm wondering why those tests weren't done.

Doctor's assistant and Pearle staff were rude. Eye exam took less than 10 minutes with letters on screen blurry the entire time. No sample contacts on site. Cost with insurance was outrageous. If I hadn't paid $140, with insurance covering $160+, for exam, I would have walked out. And no, I don't have any eye problems needing special attention. Will not be going back.

Exam was fine. Optician was experienced. The only thing is the 3% credit card charge. There was no communication prior to the appointment. Don't remember this from previous year. 3% on $1200 is a lot of money. If I had known, I could have arranged finances to use debit card.
