My husband had his annual appointment today. He opted to do his appointment with Dr Hillard who is no longer in person at the indiana, pa office. Instead he sees his parents remotely using a televideo method. We weren't sure at first how it actually worked but are completely amazed at how smooth and great the appointment was. From the tech to was very friendly personable and professional who explained every test and exam along the way to the remote refraction tech to the doctor himself. The appointment exceeded all expectations. Even the office staff from checking in to ordering contacts were friendly and outgoing, making the entire process a great one!
Received GREAT care from the technician, Quarissa, and the optometrist, Dr. Hilliard, and the clinic manager who filled in to help me order new glasses when other specialists were helping customers. A CLEARLY well- run business with helpful, kind, professional employees who all seem quite happy- a true sign of a great work environment and a business I want to support!
I've been going here for years and things have changed. I didn't schedule a virtual appointment online (that included a $40 retinal scan out of pocket) but that was what I was down for. Telehealth has a time and place, but I don't think an optometrist is one of them.
And maybe the receptionist was having a bad day, but she was very curt and short with me. I showed her my insurance card on my phone and she rudely gave me one of their cards and I guess wanted me to email a picture of it to the email on it?
I probably won't be back, which is a shame because Dr. Hilliard has always been great.
This was the oddest experience I've ever had at the eye doctor. We did arrive a little late which they were accommodating of and I greatly appreciated however, we were there for over two hours for two eye checks. My son and I both were hoping to pick out and order glasses however, after an additional 15 minutes of waiting to even look at glasses, we decide to leave and get glasses somewhere else. There was only one person helping people select their glasses and the person she was helping had at least 50 pairs of glasses to go through. When we finally decided to check out the person at the front desk seemed very annoyed that I asked for a copy of our prescriptions. The techs were great as well as the doctors themselves but two hours seems a bit excessive and then an additional unforeseen amount of time to even look at glasses. I don't see why it should take 2+ hours to have your eyes checked and then order glasses. Especially considering we took it upon ourselves to choose what we wanted so it was just a matter of having the lenses ordered. If you're on any kind of time restriction I would not recommend coming here, or if you do expect the appointment to take at least 3 hours from start to finish.
I love this place! Everyone's extremely nice and genuine. They truly care about their patients. I recommend them to everyone, i have gone here since I was a little girl, and this place has NEVER given me a bad experience. Thank you to all the ladies and gents that work this office that make every every experience, a good experience. I truly appreciate you, you're the reason I keep coming back.
I can't imagine a better experience than what Doctor Hilliard offers at his practice Indiana Pennsylvania. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and most accommodating of my needs. Moreover he is personally invested who I am as an individual and valuing me uniquely as a patient. His excellence is complemented by the office manager, Nadine, who has been with his practice for decades. It's disappointing that MyEyeDr. has hired such ineffective front desk people. They don't reflect well on the expertise of those who have been with this practice since before it was part of the MyEyeDr. network. When I arrived, the girls at the desk did not look up and did not seem to have a clue about how to engage professionally and with energy those who were coming through the door. My hope is that MyEyeDr. might invest more purposefully in recruiting quality people for the front desk so that those of us who have been coming to this practice for years will feel as valued by them as we do by the Doctor and the office manager. Further, I encourage them to honor Nadine for her leadership, her professional, her loyalty, and her generous kindness. If it weren't for her and Dr. Hilliard, I would not be returning to MyEyeDr.
I had an appointment this morning for both of my kids. My wallet was stolen out of my car which was parked in front of my home off of Philadelphia st. I was juggling kids and speaking to the insurance company to have them fax my insurance info to the receptionist. I was obviously stressed and not at my best. I asked her to confirm recept of the fax she refused to look and the lady at the insurance company couldn't stay on the phone indefinitely so she hung up. You guessed it they didn't receive the fax said lady informed me well after I hung up. She impatiently rushed me through arguably 15 pages of documentation. Rudely handled my family the entire time. Then when their appointment came up she was so rude I asked to reschedule and then her attitude informed me I was t ever stepping foot in this place again. I've been here before no issue. When your juggling things the least you can do is try not to be another problem. I won't be back.
I had nothing but an issue with the glasses I purchased kept going back to have them adjusted. I also purchased the warranty, went back again to have them adjusted. The glasses were still not fitting properly. Lynn had ordered me another pair picked them up still the same issue were still crooked and loose. They broke took them in to get another pair since I had the warranty. Hailey which is not friendly at all horrible customer service. Said the warranty was already used. Which I did not know lynn used it previously. I was told there was nothing I could do. I said do im out $300?? She gave this shrug and a smirk like oh well!!!! Then I said it again im out $300. She went and talked to the manger came back and said we will order them for you this time. They will be in in 2 weeks. How rude!!!! Picked them up yesterday Hailey adjusted them said they look fine didnt even clean the lenses. Turned and walked away. Well thanks to Hailey there is 6 patients that you have lost now. I will nor will my family go back there and be treated like that.
