I saw the story of the young man from Jamaica this morning 12/10/19, on 6ABC NEWS, who received a corneal tissue transplant because of your recent donation. You guys rock!!!!

Saving life

Altruvision is an amazing organization , and everyone who works there is truly dedicated to making peoples lives better, including the lives of recipients and of donor family members. I am so grateful to this organization.

I had the incredible opportunity to meet with the AltruVision: Lion's Eye Bank team at their Philadelphia branch. I was invited to tour their lab, allowing me to get up close with the procedures and tools which changed my life over 20 years ago. They made me feel so welcomed and supported from the moment I walked in the door. Through my visit, I was able to connect with their community, some of which who are undergoing the same diagnosis' and surgeries that I had. Because of undergoing bilateral corneal transplants, I was able to regain vision in both eyes. We shared a wonderful conversation regarding my experience and the impact that being a cornea recipient has had on me. I learned more about their team's mission and local & international efforts. We shared perspectives on the impact that choosing to become an organ & tissue donor can have on others. I had a lovely experience getting to work closer with them and look forward to more opportunities to connect with community! Shout out to Emma and Daniel for being so great to work with!!

Wow! Full circle moment. My wife happened to get her surgery with you guys as a baby. She's always been curious on the process and the how; sometimes even The Who. Finding out the incredible things done here, Connecting 30 years later it's been a wonderful experience. Looking forward to connecting her with you guys!
