This was a very unprofessional and unsanitary experience with a dismissive attitude from the eye doctor. Without informing me or getting my consent, the doctor applied pupil-dilating eye drops. I wasn't even told they were for dilation until after they were already in my eyes. When I asked if I could still drive, she said "yes," which shocked me. From my past experiences with specialist eye exams, doctors clearly warn patients that they should not drive afterward and even recommend bringing sunglasses. She said nothing. I had driven myself to the clinic and had to drive myself home. My vision was very uncomfortable, and luckily, I had my husband's sunglasses in the car, which barely helped me see the road.
Even more concerning, after dilation, she still proceeded with my contact lens fitting, which made no sense because my vision was completely blurred due to the dilation. There was no way to judge if the contact lenses fit correctly.
On top of that, the doctor had terrible hygiene practices. She handled the contact lenses with the same hands she used to touch the mouse and keyboard, no gloves, no hand sanitization, then inserted them directly into my eyes. She also gave me a contact lens case during the exam, but when I was done with the blurry lenses and wanted to switch back to my glasses, I asked to keep the case for hygiene. She said no and told me to buy my own. That made me wonder, does she reuse this case for the next patient? Then why give me a two-week sample lens if I'm supposed to throw it away?
Overall, I had a very poor experience with this doctor. She is unprofessional, unhygienic, and careless. I will not return and would not recommend her to others.
One star for front desk, she's very friendly and helpful, doctor should raise her salary, without her friendly attitude and smile no one will want it to stop by
the female doctor here was extremely rude when I ask questions about my eyes politely. she also used the bathroom without washing her hands, as I was there when in line to go next. Then in the exam room she touch my eyeballs bare hand. when i point it out, she gets slams the mouse and keyboard agressively and glares at me and continues in silence. I hope my insurance can change soon so I can return to my old doctor
I have been going to this eye doctor for the last 10+ years, from middle school to now as an adult. I have had an amazing experience going here and it has only grown since.
The front desk person is extremely attentive to logistics and details, ensuring everything goes smoothly from scheduling the next exam to picking the right pair of glasses. The eye doctor stands out with her patience, approachability, and expertise. She thoughtfully answers all my questions, no matter how many I have, and remembers personal details about my life, adding a uniquely personal touch to each visit. The accuracy of every prescription is spot-on, and she's always ready to make necessary adjustments.
Pricing is also a major plus - very reasonable for the quality of service provided, especially for contact exams which are $110 out-of-pocket. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality eye care!"
Front desk receptionist attitude is terrible and it is hard to understand when communication is in English it is bad place to go get an eye care here
I've been seeing Dr. Xu for the past few years for my annual eye exam and contact fittings. They are closed on Mondays but open Tuesday-Saturday. When you arrive, you'll need to wave at them through the window for them to buzz you in. I work with students who are interested in becoming optometrists so I ask a lot of questions and she is very patient in answering them. Whenever our appointment goes past closing time she doesn't rush or anything. I am happy with the pricing and service here, she also is very understanding of my needs and priorities. I won't be needing to see another optometrist for as long as I live in Philly!
The doctor is very rude. She asked me is there anyhing i want to ask her and i asked do i need to wear glasses and she answered me"it is up to you" with an attitude and walk out of me because there are other customers waiting. Never seen anyone so rude to the patient like this.
Last Thursday, walked in with my mom with a RX from Wills eye to get glasses. Staff asked if we have an appointment & what insurance. I said "no appt" & Davis Vision. They told me over the phone that I don't need an appt & walk in if I don't need an eye exam. She told me she's super busy that day and to come back next week. I asked to make an appt. for next week to avoid the same problem today & she said no appt needed! Really? Do you think I'll be back with this attitude & customer service? NOT! I went to another optical place down the street & had the best, speedy service! In fact, I'll bring my whole family of 5 to get glasses at this place now b/c of the service & all the brand name frames they have!
I went to CC Eyecare 1st b/c thought it's easier for my mom (speaks Chinese only) to come back should she need any adjustments. After this terrible encounter with the staff, I'll doubt they'll provide any service after they take your $$$!
The attitude of the female doctor makes me very stressed and uncomfortable. For example, she gave me dirty glass for testing my eyes, not patient about my feelings when testing eye pressure. What's worse, her fingers touched my eyes when testing eye pressure. The most serious problem is that she doesn't care about your feelings. Highly not recommend!!!!
