Most comprehensive eye examination I have ever experienced. All technicians were thorough and patient centered. The physicians that I interacted with prior to my examination by Dr. Shields were focused on my issue and very meticulous. My exam by Dr. Shields was first class. Her reputation as a world class ocular oncologist came through clearly. She was thorough, analyzed all of the data gathered earlier and was 100% focused on me as the patient. She was able to diagnose my condition and recommend a follow-up plan. I was very impressed by the efficiency of the practice and the fact that they remained individually patient focused while serving a number of patients, all with diverse issues.

Dr. Shields and her entire team were very caring, efficient, professional, and well organized. Great communication, clear explanations, and time was taken to answer questions fully. There was a concerted effort to put me at ease. I truly felt I was given individualized attention. Thank you!

When you have a problem, you want to go to the best! That's exactly what Wills Eye hospital is... The best! I thought I had something as simple as a stye, but ended up being a tumor under my eyelid. I had that surgically removed by Dr. Shields & Lalley. I also had an excellent experience with Dr.Marious, plastic surgeon. The Surgery part was also excellent with wonderful Nurses like Kelly & Victor! Sometimes the Wait time was longer than I would like, but I'm sure somestimes that happens with as many other Drs.they have there! Overall, excellent experience!

Wills Eye Hospital Oncology Center is world renowned. This is due to the incredible care delivered by Dr. Carol Shields. Together with her late husband, Dr Jerry Shields, she has cared for thousands of patients, from Pediatric to Adults, suffering from ocular cancer. While the experience of an appointment at Wills might take multiple hours, each and every step along the way to a final exam by Dr Shields, or Dr Lally, are provided with expert care and kindness. I feel incredibly fortunate to have received my eye care at Wills Eye Hospital, by Dr Shields and her associates, for over 18 years.

Dr. Shields possesses brilliance mixed with compassion and kindness. This rare combination is remarkable to say the least. She is truly a treasure. Her medical team and staff are supportive, professional, and knowledgeable. I always know I'm in good hands while I'm there. I appreciate them more than they'll ever know.

The office was very patient friendly from the text messaging welcoming you to the practice and providing a link to input your information, to assigning a fellow before the visit to prepare you for the visit, to the easy sign in kiosk, to the receptionist, and all the medical professionals involved in all the tests. They were friendly and made me feel like I was their only patient for the day- no rushing. And Dr. Shields? Incredible engagement with me and her team. Most doctors avoid this. Made an anxious day enjoyable.

Team was on working to highest level and Dr. Shields is very caring, and demands excellence from her team. She leads by example. I am blessed to have Dr. Shields expertise and the wonderful heros that serve the patient and families during what could be a very stressful time. My condolences to Dr. Carol Shields and the passing of her husband and partner, Dr. Jerry Shields. I will never forget how well he CARED for me almost 27 years ago. My ophthalmologist found them from back home. They deal with rare eyelid and ocular cancers like my own. They have been very thorough and informative and I always leave feeling like I was in good hands and they did all the could for me at each appointment and procedure.
