They alright. The glasses are cute but if you get the cheaper ones they will break fast. They always say they open at 10 an on Saturdays but I'm here now and they're not open. This is the second time I experienced this. They need to update their hours.
Receptionist tried to over charge me for a pair of my own frames to be filled out from the ophthalmologist who examine my eyes there, saying that's because my insurance cover most of the cost from my first pair, now mind you, the first pair only costed $80 to be filled which I didn't pay out of pocket because my insurance cover that $80 along with the price of seeing the ophthalmologist on my first vist which was another price, okay fine, so the amount all together didn't exceed over $200 and some change, my insurance only grants me $500 a year, so I went to another optician use my remaining balance to get a new pair of glasses from them using the prescription from 22nd street optician which came to $217, so why the receptionist at 22nd street optician felt the need to wanna charge me this time $250 on up talking about this high definition crap when that wasn't the case before not explaining any of that, she needs more training especially when I came back to pick up my first pair, you're suppose to give that customer something to read not just seeing how the glasses look on a person, wasn't gonna say anything about that until she tried to rip me off, Business must be running slow because I've never seen a optician place more empty than suppose to be occupied with customers.
The adults here are extremely professional and will do anything to make customer service a priority, my reason for the 2 stars is because this past Saturday they had a child working the shop and he's not only unpleasant, unprofessional, nasty, confrontational and ignorant to basic knowledge of his job, he's also unable to comprehend rudimentary sentences.
When I arrived at the store I knocked on the door( you have to be buzzed in and out) I could see he was in the back room of the shop, he just stood there, I waited for him to buzz me in, I was immediately met with a frown as if I disturbed him from what he had going on in the back room, I gave my name and said I was called for a glasses pick up however they may actually be lenses (this was my 3rd time for the same pair of glasses), no fault of the shop, my insurance demands my glasses be sent to an outside company and they just weren't getting them correct, I was told that they'd order the lenses and put them into the frames I chose, turns out it was a complete pair of glasses, the "clerk" asked for a balance that wasn't owed, I explained that the eyeglasses were an even trade, I give back the incorrect glasses for the ones he had, he just stared red and glassy eyed, finally he said he'd have to make a phone call before he can let me out( you have to be buzzed out), I said that's ok, I'd come back Monday, could he buzz me out?, I was immediately bombarded with homosexual slurs, don't be a so and so, he said he wasn't letting me out until he made a phone call, now Im being held hostage, he makes the call and it turns out hes calling me, once again I asked to leave, he refused to hit the buzzer, I started shaking the door and he asked did I want to die in the shop?, I raised the edge of my shirt, I happened to have a legal firearm with me that day and asked did he?, he buzzed me out, bottom line I spent over $100 on a useless pair of glasses, Im sure he couldnt have told his superiors the truth because Im sure he wouldnt still have a job.
Worst place ever they over charged me and don't Bill your insurance things that need to be billed. Instead they make IP their own prices on what to charge you for certain crap. All I wanted was the arm on my glasses fixed my insurance said they'd pay for it but the doctor wasn't there so the help charged me thirty. And charged someone else with the same problem give dollars. This place is ghetto and only because I am legally blind I was taken advantage of and had no other options. DONT GO HERE
It's a great environment when you walk in. The guy at the front always make sure I get the best deals and makes me feel welcomed. The eye doctor is cool too, let's me know what's going on with my eyes and what's best for me.
A great place to go for eye exam & glass.
I will never go back .smh all these years with them and they won't bill my insurance co anymore but the insurance co said they should have they made me pay out of pocket $125 just because it's a new doctor then didn't have my prescription.then after waiting 9 month to get them they want another $70.00 Im sorry they are the worst I've ever had who looses your file after 11 years of business with them .Imma keeo that place in prayer.
I've been getting my eye exams and eyewear from here for many years. The optometrist is very good. The older doctor is no longer there but service is still good.
