Scheduled appointment at 10am hour and half later after speaking to management still not being seen. Absolutely wild to have an appointment and wait for so god dam long to be seen. This wait times are unacceptable. The ER is good but hospital itself is awful. Also the parking situation is insane like 30$. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else for follow ups.

I am compelled to write this review to warn people that a single visit to this eye ER could cost you thousands of dollars, as we learned the hard way. My husband received an out-of-pocket bill for $2600 for a 20-minute doctor visit during a weekday evening to get his checked his vision after an injury. This visit was covered by insurance as in-network. When I looked into this charge, thinking it must be an error, I contacted Wills. They didn't have any idea why the bill was so high and on further investigation blamed the cost on a "facilities fee" because Wills being located in Jefferson Hospital. What? Wills needs to realize consumers in emergency situations cannot be responsible for knowing the facility charges incurred from a doctor visit. At the very least, patients should be told/warned what the costs are so they make their care decisions accordingly. Most families cannot afford $2600 doctor visits. Sadly, we were blamed for this bill because our insurance didn't pick up more of the cost. So the buck was passed. Jefferson and Wills know these costs, because they are negotiated rates with insurance companies. In sticking us with the bill (they refused to negotiate) they have endorsed a cruel pattern of shifting of costs to the patient.

This review is administrative: the Foctors are knowledgeable trying to teach them is a whole other issue,I get treated for Gloucoma I have been coming here for 25 years never any issues reaching doctors until it was taken over by someone else(unknown) when you call they never answer the phones and I have called repeatedly.there are 8 people at the reception desk at the gloucoma service you would think 1 would answer the phone.I tried to make a chart thinking I could leave a message they wanted my credit card to complete the registration I guess that tells you what kind of Place you are dealing with

I have been seen by Dr. Dunn for uveitis for approx. two years. He is a nationally recognized retinal specialist. I came to Will's Eye Emergency initially because my local opthamologist handled my floaters and treatment instructions so haphazardly I felt I needed to be seen at Wills. Yes the ER was an excruciating 10 hour wait. But they were thorough. When I saw Dr. Dunn two days later it was so clear that I was in good hands. For someone so brilliant he is so low-key and humble. I feel so blessed. I could have lost my sight. I believe Wills' is just as efficient or more so than my huge Bucks County practice which was completely off-hand about the uveitis diagnosis. Wills' handles a tremendous volume of patients and the staff are incredibly respectful and I believe efficient. They need more resources for the ER but if you want world-class treatment there are going to be inconveniences. I'm not sure that patients being seen at Wills' understand how sophisticated the diagnosis' they're getting are or what a regular opthamalogic practice provides. I had the opportunity to see it from both sides. I'm extremely grateful.

The actual experience with the ophthalmologist was fine, but they messed up the billing with our insurance (which was supposed to cover the visit). The only notice we got that something was amiss was when we got a letter from a debt collector saying that we owed them money. There are plenty of other ophthalmologists out there that are more organized and better communicators.

The service at this oculoplastic resident service was extremely disappointing. I waited nearly three hours for what amounted to a five-minute appointment. When I asked about the delay, the response I received was inconsiderate and lacked any sense of professionalism or empathy. Patients time should be respected, and unfortunately that was not the case here. I will not be returning.

This is the FIRST hospital that I experienced with no Consideration. The wait time is Horrible and to not atleast assist your patience with a discounted or paid parking is the worst. Who has $30-$40 for parking every visit...when you have your patients coming every week for injections, surgeries, followup etc. You know the parking prices why keep people there for 3-4 hours. People are on disability, low income...etc

My mother's appointment was 9:45a, we arrived at 9:30a. It is now 11:54 and we have still not seen a doctor. Just so inconsiderate of people's time and lives. Update: it's 12:05 and the resident is just coming in the exam room. 12:16 attending has finally come in. 12:20 appointment over.
