Dr. Horwitz is so precise and works so diligent with her eye care as well as helping you with picking the best pair of "new eyes" for you. I truly appreciate the wonderful care she took with me and I love my new glasses and recommend Dr. Horwitz for your next eye care needs.
Dr. Horwitz does a thorough exam and helped me find the best glasses I've had in a long time. I see well, they are comfortable and I love how they look. I appreciated her experienced help after years of going to chains.
Dr. Horowitz gave me my first-ever eye exam about 6 weeks ago. She was gentle and patient (and fun!). She and her staff were very friendly and helpful providing me clear updates on my insurance, the exam, and how to care for my new glasses. I've had my new glasses for about a month now--wanted to make sure I was able to get used to them before writing a review. I am very pleased with how they look and the quality. They are progressives, which has revolutionized my driving-GPS-navigating experience! I would highly recommend Dr. Horowitz to anyone.
Wonderful experience and grateful that she is committed to keeping patients safe. This is how health care should be! Had a great exam and got some very cute glasses. Will definitely be back!!
Edit from 2023: I have now been going here for 4+ years and the styles of the glasses are so pretty. They're also incredibly durable. I wear my glasses every day and my backup pair I used for several years and it still looks fine. Also they squeezed me in when I was about to lose my insurance and actually even stayed a little late for me which was so nice. I will definitely keep going here!
Previous review: Dr. Roberta talked (edit from 2023: she's right in her reply that this was probably the wrong word) me into a pair of glasses much more fun and weird than I would have picked on my own. I was a little nervous about them, but the day I picked them up, I went to Starbucks right after and literally the first thing the cashier said to me was "oh I love your glasses!". So the very first person I saw after getting the glasses complimented me on them.
I'll definitely be back!
I have never been treated so rudely by a doctor as I was by Dr. Horowitz. She asked, as though surprised that a broke college student would walk through her doors: "What made you want to come to *my* practice?"
I said, "oh, your Google reviews were good." She said, "don't trust those."
Do with that what you will.
I expressed concern regarding dry eye symptoms I had, and she dismissed them, saying she would loop back around later. She did not. I also let her know that I was worried about cost and she was extremely dismissive of these concerns and pushed more expensive services on me.
Bring plenty of $ or she will make it clear that she does not want your business.
Before the exam even starts she's demanding to know if Im going to be buying frames from her. I tell her I havent really thought that far ahead, just wanted an eye exam, but I do need new frames, etc She says she needs to know before the exam, if she fitting me for glasses. Im confused and say let's just do the exam and talk frames after. At that point the temperature drops immediately. I'm told she only gets paid $29 for the exam by insurance. Um, ok. Sorry to hear that. (In what universe is it appropriate for a doctor to say that to a patient?) Basically rushes me through the exam, and talks over me when I try to answer questions she asks. I wanted to see a medical provider, a doctor, to check my vision. THEN I was going to shop for glasses. I really didnt care for the rude treatment, like I'm some sort of bum wasting her time b/c I was there for only a medical exam instead of being a retail customer. The thing is, I was open to buying frames there, but was just not prepared for the aggressive sales push, so I just took the rx and am buying frames elsewhere and never going back to Dr. H for any reason.
Dr. Horowitz and company has given me THE best medical experience of my life. I truly feel valued as a human being worthy of care that I can even describe as nurturing. And Dr. H also makes it clear that she wants what's best for her patient in every way, making sure to educate, and leaves out no details. She wants to know who you are and wants to make sure you get everything you need (because you are worthy.)
The receptionist is a super smart and kind person who guides you patiently and warmly. Honestly it's like hanging out with two friends for an hour or so.
I wish Dr Horowitz could be my dentist too.
