Eyes on Regent Square

The optometrist is wonderful. The office staff did something I consider pretty unethical. I purchased $1,300 worth of contact lenses from them under the pretense that I'd receive a $400 rebate from the manufacturer--this is what the office told me. When I applied for the rebate, I was told it would only be $250 and the promo code the office gave me was not eligible for the product I ordered. I would NOT have dropped that much money at this office if I'd known I'd only get $250 back. They also left a bad taste in my mouth when they sent me to shop for very expensive glasses with dilated eyes and blurry vision. My contacts order also had an issue where the office staff entered my address wrong, with an address that literally doesn't and couldn't exist. How they thought someone lived on "TH Street" is beyond me. My order was delayed a week because of their error (which I couldn't catch on my invoice because, again, my eyes were dilated, and no one else who read the invoice thought to double check the address...). They did make that particular incident right by giving me a week of lenses, but I'm incredibly angry about the additional money I've wasted ordering lenses from them (under the false pretense of a rebate) instead of a different supplier. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEIR OFFICE. Just get your exam from the incredible doctor and take your prescription elsewhere.

I've had a difficult time finding a doctor who fits scleral lenses. I am so happy to have found Eyes on Regent Square. Dr. Monroe is an affable, gentle man. He is knowledgeable, caring, competent and comprehensive. The staff is professional and make you feel like an appreciated customer.

My son goes here and we love it! The receptionists are very sweet and helpful as well as the Dr.

This is a friendly and professional office. Me wife and I have used them for years. They are easy to recommend.

I am a mid 40s glasses / contacts wearer and just tried Eyes On Regent Square for the first time and they were excellent. I made an appointment 2 weeks out and asked to call if anything opened up; they called me 2x with appointment availability due to cancellations. I got in to see them in less than a week and they were friendly, thorough, fast and efficient. The front desk staff was very helpful and was even willing to try to price match contacts against lower cost competitors.

I wish I read the reviews before going here, because it seems that my experience is similar to other customers here. First, let me say that I had an excellent experience with Dr. Monroe for my exam. I am new to wearing glasses, and he thoroughly explained everything about the exam and the problems that I was having with my vision. My insurance has a very low vision benefit, so I had two pairs of glasses made by a discount vision provider with the prescription from Dr. Monroe. Unfortunately, my vision was worse with the new glasses. People told me I had to get used to them, so I wore them for more than a week. I instinctively knew something was wrong. I would focus on an object, then lift my glasses, and my vision was always better without the glasses. I brought my glasses back to the place where I bought them. They examined the glasses and told me that the glasses matched the prescription that I provided. So I then brought the glasses back to Eyes on Regent Square. The person who helped me gave me a bad vibe from the moment I explained the problem. She took my glasses and examined them with their equipment, and confirmed that they matched the prescription. I explained my difficulties and concerns to her while she brought me into an examination room. The first thing she said was that they were crooked. I felt that was a condescending thing to say, and didn't really relate to the problem I was having. After we got into the examination room she had me read two eye charts. I couldn't read either one. I reiterated that I was new to wearing glasses and didn't really know what to expect, but I thought that the glasses were actually making it harder for me to see. I saw much more clearly without the glasses. She told me that my eyes were bad and that there was only so much that science could do for me. I left feeling that my concerns were not satisfied, but I was also kind of depressed because I was worried that she was right and that I would never be able to read normally again. Since my insurance only paid a pittance for my vision services, my glasses were actually a birthday present from my partner. After my bad experience trying to get the problem straightened out, I stopped wearing my glasses. Of course, my partner immediately noticed and asked why I wasn't wearing my great looking new glasses. It broke my heart to tell her that the glasses not only didn't help, but actually made my vision worse. Since Eyes on Regent Square was either unable or unwilling to help me, we decided to get a second opinion. I paid out of pocket to get another eye exam from a different doctor. I am really glad that I did pop for a new exam. The new doctor did a complete work up and gave me a new prescription. After she gave me the new prescription I shared my old prescription with her. She said her prescription was completely different. I have now had my new glasses with the new prescription for about a week and it is a completely different experience from my first set of glasses. I can see things fine now. When I picked them up, I asked for them to show me the charts that the first lady at Eyes on Regent Square showed me and I read them just fine with this new prescription. When I was in college, my favorite professor told me that mistakes will happen throughout life, but the important thing is what we do to fix those mistakes. Unfortunately, when I brought my problem to Eyes on Regent Square, the person who helped me seemed to be put off that I was even questioning their service. It upsets me that she took my money and sent me away knowing that there was a problem. I was half expecting that my new glasses would be no better than the first, but thankfully, that was not the case. With the clarity of vision that my new glasses provide me, I would recommend that you do not trust your eye care to this business. It seems that many people are happy with them, but if something goes wrong, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem.

Dr. Monroe, 5 stars. His admin team, zero. Rude, mean girl vibes--literally arguing and gaslighting me about health outcomes that have absolutely nothing to do with my eye prescription. I complained to Dr. Monroe about this inappropriate behavior of the eye tech and he said he'd talk to her, but given this history of rudeness in the comments, they need an admin overhaul. I won't be coming back. Dr. Monroe, free yourself from this practice! You deserve better!

I went in for an annual eye exam. I had a great experience with Dr. Monroe. However, the receptionist at the front desk is just plain rude! During my conversation with her, she mocked me and refused to answer my questions. Extremely unprofessional behavior. What is her problem??
