South Hills Eye Associates Ltd:

Told me on phone my appointment was covered by insurance. Upon arrival they told me I had a $50 fee. I've never had to pay a fee at any other eye doctor I've been to with this same instance for 16 years. Wasted my time but that's how you end up stuck at dead end jobs like these aloof uncaring robots floosies at the front desk.

After many years as a patient, I have had enough. The woman who is responsible for collecting payment after you have seen the doctor is incredibly rude. It is amazing to me that she continues to be employed there.

Between myself and my parents we have been customers since 1990. Recently I had a weekend eye emergency that Mercy Hospital Ophtalmology group addressed. Not only they addressed the issue but dispelled a diagnosis of my eyes for 10 years from South Hills Eye Associates. I was so perturbed because for 5 years I had to buy Restasis when I did not need it for that long nor could afford it (1K a month). Furthermore South Hills Associates for decades never accepted ANY of my insurances while at Mercy they did. And to add insult to injury....my ophtalmologist had someone from the office call me to say that when I am done with my eye issue then I could return for a checkup! FOR WHAT??? You provide zero value when your equipment is antiquated, your doctors dont perform retinal attachments, and after decades of loyalty dont give a hoot about any updates of your patients by PCP, and hospital staff? Please close down your practice. You offer no help...nor value. I am hurt beyond repair from the last message received and the misdiagnosis for years that cost me to almost damage my eye sight and lose hard earned money. I am super disgusted.... truth had to be told. You got 2 stars because my prescription glasses were always well made. But have you all become glorified optometrists? So disappointed....I put my health in your trust for years. Best wishes.

Completely dissatisfied and have lost my business. I called to get a new set of contacts and was told by an extremely rude receptionist that I would need ANOTHER EXAM- (it's been almost a year) she said that it is a "state law" before they would be able to fill my order. I told them that I never received any calls, emails, or mailers reminding me of this- and then proceeded to get called a lair and that I had received something. Never once an apology!! I DO NOT appreciate being 1) SWINDLED into an exam when it hasn't even been a year and then having to pay for contacts on top of it. 2) basically being called a liar because THEY dropped the ball on PROPER notifications. PLEASE INFORM ME HOW I AM ABLE TO ORDER MY EXACT SAME BRAND AND SCRIPT FOR CONTACTS ONLINE??? NO EXAM NEEDED. You people overcharge and rather upset your customers than fulfill their needs. The office staff was actually never pleasant on any of my visits- the only thing they have going for them are the doctors. The Mt Lebanon office should be completely ashamed and should reconsider how they speak to their customers. Stop trying to take peoples money and focus on better customer service.

I had an emergency situation and the staff at South Hills Eye Associates told me to come in right away. They made room in their busy schedule and I was handled promptly and professionally. Impressive service. Generally Dr. Morris is my treating ophthalmologist, he is terrific! An excellent clinician, always runs on time, and a genuinely wonderful human being. Thank you for your superb care.

My daughter had an eye emergency recently (partially blocked vision), and when I called South Hills Eye Associates asking for one of their doctors to see her as soon as possible, they gave us an appointment for early afternoon (I called them mid-morning). I was SO relieved! She was seen by Dr. Morris. He was very thorough with the examination; certainly took his time to examine her and answer our questions. We were very pleased with the way the appointment went. Thank you Dr. Morris and Staff!

The front desk staff are always clearly working hard, but remain friendly and efficient. I have been cared for by a few different doctors there, and each experience has been great! Dr. Bowers gave me a spot-on eye glass prescription as well. The staff and physicians are all very knowledgeable and always willing to help.

I would NEVER recommend this place!!!! DO NOT GO HERE. The woman in the front is so rude. She deserves to be fired. I was told my appointment time was at 2:30 on a phone call because I could not see out of my glasses as well as I should. I go there on the day of my appointment and they said it was at 12:40. There was no confirmation call or text like most UPMC places do. Then, as I am waiting for my apportionment in the lobby, I said to the rude receptionist that I am putting money in the meter. I don't want to be late. She turns and looks at her co-worker, and said, "she just said that?!" I said, "oh, now you are talking about me?" She said, "i didn't say anything" and then I left. I REPEAT, Do not come here unless you want to leave pissed off.
