2hr drive to the UPMC eye institute.
Appt at 1pm (arrived 12:45)
1hr 45min wait in the waiting room. While we watch everyone before and after us get processed through the office.
2:45pm we get called back.
5 providers for 99 patients the day we are scheduled. (2.45 patients p/hr per provider are required to be seen today) How do they expect a 3yr old to complete an eye exam with good results while being completely exhausted.

Our grandson had an appt. 1/28/25 at Bridgeville, made next appt for March 24, 2026, received a letter last weekthat are appt was cx by doctor, not in that day. Next appt available 11/1/26 at main w another doctor, 1st available. This is ridiculous, but no option for 7 yo Autistic, non-verbal ( no words) boy. And, I am willing to go to any office. We are on a waiting list...

The doctor forgot to order my child's glasses, and then the glasses failed inspection so they had to be remade. The doctor never notified us, and just left us and our 6yo waiting for her glasses. We will never be coming back to this office. The doctor is irresponsible and lacks compassion for her CHILD patients.
They should be ashamed of how they run their office. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Horrible got there early ... went back at 7:45 to see doctors did small exam for letter then diluted eyes at 7:55 said they would see him in 20 min to do eye exam. Now it's 8:30 am the 20 min past an ask the desk when are then going to see him. After she told me it would be 5 more min I'm like ok that's good. She come get us 5-8 mins later an y'all us to a room where we are sitting there for another 10 mins before I hear laughter an at the desk that right across from our room. It shouldn't take that long for someone to see us a whole 1 hour before I walked out the door. My son also have adhd An can't sit still. So where do they put us in a room full of expensive equipment that he is ready to just mess us. Smh it shouldn't take that long for an appointment. I made sure that he missed only a hour of school so he can go back. Made sure we made the first app of the day an still got skipped over. I will will be making eye app for my kids somewhere else. If u have time to spend 2-3 hours here good luck. Disappointed

Painfully long wait time. We were at our appt on time and waited 1.5 hrs before the dr came. He spent 5 minutes with my daughter and that was that. Inconsiderate of my time.

Agree with the other commenter. If you're given a referral here, unless you have hours to spend to be seen by a resident, ask for an alternative one and save yourself some time. I think they mean well...just very inefficient for upmc.
