Dr. Richard E. Kareha, OD

My mother saw Dr. Richard to get new glasses because she needed bifocals. When she went in today to pick up the bifocals, she noticed Dr. Richard, when he was bringing the new glasses out, was cleaning them profusely and advising my mother to ensure she used both hands when putting them on and off so as not to make the arms of the glasses weak. Well lol and behold, when she got home she realized the new glasses she paid $384 for was broken! The arm had been glued together! How could new glasses she came in to pick up be broken and the Dr. not have a transparent conversation with her about this and at the very least offer to provide new frames?!? My mother is older and has a disability. This is despicable, deplorable and outright disgusting behavior from a healthcare provider! Steer clear!

Me and my family have entrusted Dr. Kareha with all of our vision needs for years. I have since moved to South Carolina, and he is still my eye doctor. Honest-Affordable-Professional.

This is an Excellent provider who took the time out to explain various things regarding the state of my eyes and the gratuitous need for astigmatism lenses which I had been prescribed by larger corporations, obviously to increase the money spent. He was efficient, professional, polite, and accepted my state insurance for the eye exam. He ordered my contacts over a holiday and was honest about the delivery time, and he managed to give me trial lenses. His reception area, while reminiscent a bit of 90s with manual book appointments and taupe filing cabinets, was extremely welcoming, clean, and has beautiful sunlight. I enjoyed my experience with him.

A few members of my family as well as myself have been going to see Dr. Kareha for over 9 years now and he has been great. He is very knowledgeable and kind and does not try to upsell you on any products or procedures that you don't want or need. He lets you know exactly what your insurance covers for you and explains the prices of your options before you buy anything. Exams are quick and prescriptions are available in a timely manner and they always call to let you know when they are filled and when your next exam is due. I would continue going here if I was not moving soon.

Very rude didn't get the address perfectly was calling to make sure this was the correct address he's cutting me off stating that 'are you calling to reschedule because I'm 7 mins late and his next appointment is already here and it wouldn't be fair to them because I'm late.' He was very unprofessional speaking over me I could barely get a word out. He didn't even say I'll switch slots and due to they are here b4 you I love see you at 8 sense they came in at 7:30. Welp I'll just find a bigger business that someone is more professional and not frightened.

I have bee a patient of Dr. Kareha for 15 years. He always fits me in when I call. He is professional, affordable, and approachable.

Excellent optometrist, he makes you feel at home .Would gladly recommend him, he is very professional .
