This place is terrible. They schedule everyone at the same time. So if you have an appt at a certain time just know 20 people are there with the same time as you and will have to be seen before you. The woman who works in the eyeglass place is 80 years old with piles of papers everywhere, the floor , the desk, just total disarray. She's rude, unprofessional and annoying. They are all unprofessional. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!
Dr Wendell was AWESOME, charming & attentive! *BUT* the group that took over his practice and moved it to West Chester Pike, is AWFUL.
Unprofessional & SLOW.
After 3 wasted hours. I left confused, aggravated, & without a script for new glasses.
There are other practices using the same company name, Dr Cordelia N Uddoh/ Premier Vision Laser Center. I've left my review on all practices with the same name.
I've never had a vision appointment take more than 45 minutes in 45 years of going to ophthalmologists.
I was early for my appointment. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the warehouse style waiting room.
After 80 minutes of waiting, I saw the first in a series of techs behind curtains who give tests.
At each station, the apparatus were hastily "cleaned" b4 I was asked to put my chin in the stirrup. Then the machines were till I was hunched & uncomfortable. (One tech was snacked while my test was going on.)
After 2 hours, I was brought back to the exam room. The doc ignored me & left the room. She came back into the room to eat snacks & left again.
She eventually came back in & "took a medical history," of meds & surgeries. *She didn't ask me a thing about my vision history.*
I was there for a diabetic check, & to update my script for glasses as I hadn't been in 3.5 years.
I mentioned needing my prescription for my glasses updated at least 3 times to her.
She gave the fastest "read the smallest line" test that I've ever been given & told me that I had 20/20 (distance) vision.
*I have NEVER had 20/20 vision!*
I found this odd, so I mentioned needing a glasses prescription update AGAIN.
At some point, a man came in with papers. She thought he was there to work. He said "no, nothing's been finalized yet." She talked with him & left the room.
When she returned, I tried to talk about my vision history & she wasn't interested.
She asked me if my vision is blurry or if I see floaters. I explained that I have documented vision distortions. She didn't seem to understand what I was saying.
I explained that I have *scotopic syndrome*. She pretended she'd heard of it. When I took her to a website to show her, she replied "it's amazing what the mind does"
AS IF I WAS SHOWING HER AN IMAGINARY THING!
Next, before she started dilating my eyes, I asked about a new script for glasses AGAIN & she said "your script didn't change."
Uh, ok.
I let her do her thing.
She did the test, wrote "discharge" on my paperwork & sent me to reception to schedule my next appointment.
NO REVIEW of findings.
She DID mutter something about a curtain & told me I have cataracts.
CATARACTS!??!
ISN'T THAT KINDA IMPORTANT?!!?
She mentions the wiggles in my vision, WHICH I'VE EXPLAINED are part of my SYNDROME, calls that "floaters" & mumbles about cataracts again.
I ask if i "should do anything about the cataracts?"
Her reply was "It's age appropriate."
It's been 3 hours, & I just want to go home.
At the desk I say "She wants me back in 6 Months. & I need a copy of my script."
The receptionist tries to book me for 9 months out. I say, "6 months is sooner."
Then the doc pops up & says "I told you to go to the black curtain."
(OK. I'll give her that one.
But she was talking so low I couldn't understand her.)
(I had to ask her to close the exam room door because the music was SO LOUD I couldn't hear her.)
(I've never been irked by Stravinsky before.)
I go sit behind the black curtain & wait. I open the curtain, turn the chair around, & wait. The tech eventually notices me and does his tests.
Back at the receptionist, I remind her: "I need an updated copy of my script."
She apologetically says:
"She didn't test for that.
I'll have to schedule you to come back in."
NOPE.
The ONE positive thing I can say is that the Haitian employee PRONOUNCED MY NAME CORRECTLY!
I went to this establishment for an eye exam and possibly to purchase glasses for myself and my child. The front desk staff was kind, polite, and patient. my appointment was for 9:30 am, I didn't get seen until 11 o'clock am. Not to mention I came in on time at 9:10am to fill out any paperwork. The eye doctor Windell Murphy was very rude, and sarcastic, but he made sure my son's exams were right. as we were leaving after that long wait it was now 12:40 pm. I decided to go next-door and look at the glasses. I had no idea, It was only supposed to be one person at a time Inside the glasses store. Then I received the worst treatment ever. There was a Lady Who was so rude and nasty. She lacked empathy and she treated Me so disrespectfully. I do not plan on buying glasses from this place nor do I intend on ever coming back. Don't waste your time here, They are arrogant, cocky, And do not respect your time!!!
I'm really not surprised by the low ratings this office has. This office double books it's patience and you are left to wait an entire day for a 9:30 am appointment. This is unexceptionable. But I'm sure this office doesn't care they are used to the terrible reviews and ratings. Get it together there are other Drs that will gladly take you with much less wait time. Just amazing. The Dr is a good Dr. Who ever handles his bookings are wrong for double booking.
I see not much has changed since the first review for this place six months ago. Wish I had read it before I made my appointment. Even though I had an appointment it was like I was a walk-in waiting to be seen. As the one reviewer already mention, there was no communication from the front desk that they were running behind. After waiting for 1 hour 10 minutes after my appointment time I asked how many people were in front of me and how long I had to wait. She stated the doctor was running behind and I had several people in front of me. That would have been nice to know when I signed in one hour and 10 minutes ago. I said I couldn't wait. She asked if I wanted to make another appointment, I said no. She asked if I was going to call to make another appointment I said no. At this point from the look on her face she didn't really care one way or the other. She just went back to her paperwork. I left. If I had stayed I probably would not have seen the doctor for another hour or more. Clearly they are overbooking. The waiting room was mainly senior citizens who sat patiently for their appointment while they watched Let's Make A Deal and The Price is Right on TV. It's kind of sad because they are treating seniors on medicare and or medicaid disrespectful who may feel they have no other choice or think they have no other choice but this place. Someone did come out during that time and announce if anyone was thirsty they will give you a bottle of water just ask. I though that was thoughtful but unusual. Until I realize that we would be spending hours waiting to see the doctor whether we had an appointment or not. I guess they didn't want their patients dying of thirst before they see the doctor, that way they wont get paid. This office should get rid of the pretense of giving appointments and just advertise they accept walk-ins only. Or better yet just close down. They clearly don't know how to professionally run a doctors office.
Today I visited Dr.Murphy's office for the first time and was received and welcome in a very professional manner. The front desk technician was very helpful in assisting me with preparing paper work . The young lady (Divinity), who did my medical background history and basic eye test was one of the nicest persons that I have encountered thus for in an optomatrice Doctor's office. Divinity was very pleasant and soft spoken , she truly made me feel comfortable, and was able to explain concerns that I was unsure of .
Don't waste your time coming here!!! Making an appointment is useless. Just like what other's had said on the reviews. Overall, was there for approximately close to 5hrs.
If I could give this place a Zero I would. But to leave a review that wasn't possible. The wait time is so long and when it's time to be seeing it's even longer. Everyone in here is rude except for the first person that checked me in. Even the people waiting are rude. If you want high quality experience I would never recommend this place. If you are waiting in a room, they do not knock before coming in. First and last time here for sure. The experience was so disappointing and made me want to leave. Usually I would've left but this was the only day I had to do this because of my work and school schedule. Will definitely go somewhere farther because sometimes the distance is worth it if the experience will be better.
