Wise Vision Care

I have been coming to Wise Eye since I moved to Beaufort. Always satisfied with Dr. Wise and her staff. Kind, friendly and caring. There is reason to go anywhere else!

A patient since elementary school, approx. 18 years long. First eye doctor I have ever been to. Today, I had what I consider a poor experience trying to schedule my yearly appointment. Last seen July 2024 for an annual appt. -- which means my RX has expired. I couldn't schedule an appt due to wrong information given by the employee who answered the phone, Shayla, telling me I'd have to wait til next year for an appt. Claimed no place would accept an appointment due to not qualifying for an annual exam. I spoke with my insurance provider and my benefits are up/qualify for (let alone I need) an annual exam to obtain better lenses to see. Including to this, there were moments of patience employee had, but the consistent raising tone/speaking over me on the phone when I simply was trying to understand how this is the case is off putting. I'm choosing to change providers because of this. Although, Dr.Wise is great + staff who have come and gone over the years has been too. This call and being misinformed I wouldn't qualify for an annual anywhere and I'd have to wait til 2026 knowing that I am due for an exam + also my prescriptions have expired doesn't sit well. Employees new or not have to be mindful of how they word things, if I didn't fact check with my insurance + another local vision provider I would've wasted my yearly coverage/relied on expired RX for an excessive amt of time.

The worst experience in my entire life. I write this as I am sitting in the lobby , crying. To begin with .... The Optometrist was 45 minutes late for a basic eye exam. While I was having the exam, I began to see a halo- or double vision- , around the letters. I informed her I was having problems. She began to belittle me immediately, demanding I explain to her what I was seeing, then refusing to listen to what I was saying. I was terrified and began to cry. She belittled everything I said, in front of her assistant, and made me feel stupid for having fears. She snapped orders at me .... And made me so sick, I could feel my BP drop. The " Doctor" was mean, cruel and made it about herself, telling me she " didn't just start doing this". I , in, no way implied that she " just stated doing this". But , it's pretty clear now , she could care less about her patients. While I was sitting there waiting for the double vision, halo vision, however you say it medically, to stop, she says that part of the exam is over, and now we would proceed with a medical exam. Nothing was explained to me about costs or what the " medical exam" entailed. She belittled me to the point I wanted to leave, but now I am dilated and can not leave, as I wanted to know what , if anything , is wrong. I am sitting here, still in this horrible place, scared and alone. Someone took my glasses, again, to " get the prescription from them" and I can't see. No one has asked if I'm ok. I have no idea where my glasses are or what's happening. This " doctor" seems like she had no idea what she is doing. And she lacks basic humanity, empathy, and people skills. I am a licensed medical professional who treats patients all day. I have never treated a patient this way. And I pray whoever reads this honest experience will think twice about coming to Wise Vision Care. I have been shuffled between 3 rooms, without explanation. I plan on filing a formal complaint with the SC Board of Optometry. I would rather never have an eye exam again, as to deal with this level of incompetence and evil. One the test was done and she diagnosed me with a condition, she would not even send me a medical record !! Refused to answer questions and told me she " needs to move on". What " doctor" diagnosis, a patient, and then refuses to give them their medical record?! Absolutely criminal treatment.

Dr. Wise was very informative! She did a thorough evaluation, didn't mind my questions. I found her to be professional, while treating her patients like welcome guests!

I can't thank Dr wise enough. She was incredibly thorough during my eye exam and took the time to make the necessary referrals to ensure I received the care I needed. What truly set her apart was the follow-up--she personally called to check in on me, which meant so much. She went above and beyond in every way, and I'm deeply grateful for her kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern. Highly recommend Dr. Wise to anyone looking for exceptional eye care.

Wonderful Experience from both Dr. Wise and her staff. The staff is warm and caring. They were professional and did not make me feel rushed. Dr. Wise spent a lot of time with me and explained everything in detail. I highly recommend this doctor and staff and even got a great pair of progressive glasses at a great price. Overall this was a pleasant visit, highly recommended.

Wonderful staff that are friendly and always willing to help! The Optometrist is awesome to work with to help people of all ages to be able to see clearly. A nice selection of frames so you can be sure to find one you love!

I'm a new patient to this optometry. Recently, I've gone my yearly appointment to renew my glasses. The appointment went smoothly. The staff made you feel welcome. Unfortunately, my husband who was with me about half my appointment. He was sent to the hospital during my appointment. He wasn't feeling well. The staff are aware of this and make sure I finish my appointment quickly and efficiently. They're understanding of the situation. Overall, my husband is doing well. Nothing too serious. Can't wait to pick up my new glasses.
