I normally have my annual eye exams done here with Dr. Perry & it all goes fairly well. So, I booked my annual appointment online and had been receiving notifications throughout the week to confirm my appointment. Dr. Perry and the technicians had been nice and efficient in my past experiences; however, today I never stepped into the building. I arrived early and sat outside up until my appointment time, as there were no other cars or people inside. I called and left a voicemail, and soon received a text from Pearle Vision asking if I needed help. I explained that I was there for my appointment, but saw no one else. I was told that there were no Madison location appointments today, as I watched a couple pull up & jiggle the door handles for their 11 o'clock appointment. The representative explained that an automated system sends the reminders and may have cancelled the appointment after realizing it was a blocked out date, due to the staff being at the Clarksville location. Despite my understanding of the situation, I was dissatisfied with my experience today. I would've appreciated more communication in regard to the cancellation, but instead I wasted a lot of time looking at the rough conditions of the facility. No hard feelings.
Courteous and knowledgeable staff, great service and plenty of options to choose from...whole process was very well done and had me at ease to ask any questions I may have had...thanks!
What wonderful staff! I had recently purchased new glasses for my girl and due to budget constraints had visited America's Best, their neighbor directly behind, but the Hermitage location. We stopped in Madison to have them adjusted briefly and waited for quite some time while two staff members were too busy talking to have a minute for us. We finally left without getting assistance. My girl has the idea to see if Pearle would help since we were right next door. The people were very kind, knowledgeable and helpful, taking less than a minute to adjust her frames. Id recommend stopping in for service any time
This place is a RIP-OFF! My first and LAST time stepping foot in this establishment. The young woman who checked me in was pleasant enough, and the eye exam itself was fine. But that's where the positive experience ENDED. I chose a pair of simple, non-name brand frames priced at $139. The front desk woman then tried to upsell me on the most expensive lenses they had! I clearly stated I wanted BASIC, plain lenses. She conveniently "forgot" to mention the price as she rang me up. With an insurance allowance of $130 and 20% off, I expected a reasonable total. Instead, I was slapped with a bill over $200! After calling my insurance company, I discovered they charged me $189 for the frames (which were advertised at $139!) and tacked on extra lens features I NEVER asked for! This is blatant THEFT! DON'T come here unless you want to be ROBBED! I immediately called to cancel my order, which was still pending with my insurance. They refuse to refund my money back to my card and are forcing me to wait two weeks for a check. This place is TRASH and completely UNPROFESSIONAL. Seriously, avoid this place like the plague!

Saddens me to leave any less than 3 stars, and for a place I've never had issues with until a week or so ago. Summary they seem like they don't want to be there and you're a burden to them. I went this year, to glasses and contacts, as I usually do. It didn't seem as clean as it was in the past. I walked in and waited for someone to say something. Finally I had to say hello I have an appointment in front of plenty of staff members, some were not doing anything. They did my exam, not too bad. It was when I was checking out and getting my glasses. The man that helped me was so unprofessional and made me feel so uneasy, I've worn glasses since I was 2 years old and I'm almost 40, I know the drill. I was uneasy about picking a newer style of frames he just kept shrugging his shoulders and pointed to a picture of a model in the same frames and said that's the new style not do you want to try other styles, the grocery store workers are more happy to help then he was, and well ya! He kept saying if you don't let me thin your lenses, it will look like your looking through a magnifying glass, I reminded him I know as I was teased in middle school because my glasses were thick, he then drew a picture like I didn't understand what thicker meant. He had no compassion and just seemed to not want to be there, neither did I but I have to have glasses and now have to drive further for an eye glass place. I would not recommend this place, it's gone downhill and you just a number, no names, no smiles, just get all the money we can from you and get out the door! I am mostly writing this due to the man who lacked to make me feel at ease when buying $700 glasses, please offer him some compassionate training or just know we all are nervous in some ways when seeing any doctor. I hope you all make improvements, so I can return. The eye doctor was just fine, not great bedside manner but he didn't act frustrated when I asked any questions. We should be able to ask questions as many times as we need to feel comfortable with our purchases and I did not.
I took my daughter to this location on 7/31 to get and eye exam and new glasses. The eye exam went great and we bought glasses there. I got a call that the glasses are in but everytime I go to the store during posted business hours no one is there. I've called and no one has called me back. I only get an automatic text response. I called the corporate phone number and they sent me an email to file a claim but no one has contacted me back in the 48 hours since I sent that back. I would not recommend using this location and after this issue is resolved I will take my business elsewhere.
Update: I finally got to pick my glasses up on the 3rd try and they had made them wrong. They did not have transition lenses that we wanted and paid quite a bit extra for.
First visit to Pearle Vision and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciated that he took the time to have a conversation with me because that made the experience even better. Sometimes when visiting doctors you feel rushed and as if they don't care. Didn't feel like that here. Also, check out experience was great and felt the team tried to help make sure I got the most out of my insurance. Definitely will return and I definitely recommend.
this Pearle Vision is the only one I go to and have only gone to since moving here from Louisville. I like that the store is small and they carry very nice frame (it reminds me of the office I go to back home). Anyway I don't normally have bad experiences at this location in the 7 years I've been here.....BUT yesterday, 3/19/24, was not a great experience. The receptionist was nice, but the guy helping me with the glasses was not friendly, he was semi rude and talked to me as if I was a dummy. First he questioned my new prescription (which I had just got 30mins before I arrived there) because they had a bifocal and the last time I came to Pearle vision (2019) they were single lenses. Not sure why that was such a problem, but again he was slightly rude about it. I explained I had just recently had cataract surgery and lens transplants in both eyes. Then I picked out my frames and sat down while he entered my ins info and pricing of the frames and lenses with my insurance. The lenses ended up being more than my frames My total was $400+ and after having him explain my options as far as leaving some things off, etc I decided that I wanted to shop around and see if I could possibly find cheaper lenses elsewhere. Not because I couldn't afford it, but because I like to be frugal when possible. Anywho, I asked to take a pic of the paper with the pricing info (that shows before and after ins cost) so that I can have something to compare to when looking in other stores, he acted like I was requesting a pic or copy of his SSN or for someone else's private info. The info was mine! Then when I was leaving I picked up the frames I had chosen, so that I could return it to it's rightful spot, he and the receptionist whom walked up (not sure when he came over there) with an over enthusiastic (sarcasm) voice says, "you can leave that there!" as if I was going to bolt out of the store with them! I don't like when people are rude and I hate when I'm treated as somebody who would have to steal out of pearle vision to get glasses. Again I'm not new to the store, I can afford pretty much anything in there. Please have a customer service training session with him (wish I knew his name it was about 330p on 03/19) and train them not to hold on to the stereotype that black people steal. If I decided to go back and purchase those glasses, I hope he is not the one to assist me and if so I pray he has a better attitude. I'm a friendly bubbly person. So bad energy doesn't mix well with me. usually based on just this experience alone I would never go back, but since I've been a customer for 7years I'm willing to give it one more try. Have a blessed day.
