I was traveling through Franklin TN from Illinois when during the night I experienced sudden severe eye pain, redness, swelling, vision change & light sensitivity. I was fortunate that I was able to been seen as an emergent walk in case @ this specialty practice.The entire staff were helpful, caring & competent. I usually exhaustively check out all healthcare providers history, education, certifications & reviews prior to visits. Because of the sudden onset of symptoms, I was unable to do this, luckily it was not necessary. Dr Ewald was thorough in his examination & quick to diagnose, educate & treat. It was apparent that I came to the right provider! I am grateful that this eye specialist who serves the Franklin TN community was there for me when I needed help. Thank you for providing excellent eye care!

The lady's there are AMAZING Dr hill and his nurse not good at all! I paid 400 up front and the Dr didn't even look at my chart! I tried to explain things but nope I will be fine even tho 2 Dr's say I need surgery before I lose my Eyesight! He is one of the most uncaring Dr I have ever seen! I drove 6 hours just because I was told they are AMAZING! Red flag when you read reviews and he is the Dr who has hardly and comments! I want br back which doesn't bother them either!!!

I had cataract surgery yesterday with Dr Ewald. I was nervous about the surgery and he made me feel so comfortable. My vision has improved so much in just 24 hours. So pleased! Can't wait to have my second eye done next month. Thank you Dr Ewald!

Dr. Chang is a knowledgeable doctor, I have no doubt. However, I would stay away from this office as they engage in over-billing practices. To illustrate my point, I saw Dr. Chang ONCE along with an optometrist there. A prescription was given and I filled one pair of lenses. My insurance did not cover $125.00 worth of the exam and I paid that. About 10 days later, I returned there because the prescription seemed off so I was checked by a second optometrist who gave me a new prescription. According to their office policy, patients are re-checked for no additional charge up to a certain time period. Despite this, I was then billed $168 for this follow up visit - this was 3 months later when I received a text message the other day. I then reached out to their billing department and they agreed with me and took off the extra charge. I then cancelled my upcoming appointment with Dr. Chang.

Dr. Rooney is great! However, as a patient seeing a box with a lock that says "phone home" in the Nashville office screams "micro management". I get guidelines and policies about phone usage but this is overkill. Take care of your employees and they will take care of your patients. (I took a pic but google wouldn't give me the option to post it. )

When I called Cornea and Cataract Consultants of Nashville to make an appointment with Dr Bernard Chang for pterygium surgery consultation I got the appointment for the following week. The day of the appointment I first saw a technician who performed several tests even thought I told her that I was there to see Dr Chang to get his opinion about my pterygium and surgery, she said that all the tests were necessary. When I finally saw Dr Chang the first thing he told me was that I had dry eye which I already knew (I use eye drops 3 times a day for that) then he looked at my eye with the equipment and told me that I had a pterygium. I said that that was the reason of my visit and he asked me what I wanted to do about it and I said I wanted it to get it removed. He was very hesitant and told me all the cons about having pterygium surgery. He even said that he had a patient whose pterygium had came back 6 times (?). I told him that I wanted surgery and asked him when he could do it and he said that I had to talk to the scheduler. When the scheduler called me the following Monday she said that the sooner opening Dr Chang had to perform my surgery was August of 2026, that's 9 months from now. I said that I wanted the surgery to be done sooner because the pterygium was really bothering me so she suggested I saw another doctor in their office but I had to pay again to see the other specialist. I said no and asked her to talk to her manager about this because I didn't think this was right. Then she called me a few days later and told me that another doctor could do my surgery in December and she wanted to schedule me right away. I said that I wanted to meet this doctor before the surgery and she said that then I had to make an appointment with him and pay again for the consult. This whole experience has been very disappointing and frustrating. They knew from the beginning that I was consulting for pterygium surgery and when I booked the appointment they should've let me know that Dr Chang was booked until August of next year. I don't want to let a random doctor perform my surgery without even meeting him beforehand. I DON'T recommend Cornea and Cataract Consultants of Nashville at all.

Good experience overall. Most important is that the Doctor gave me his full attention and addressed my issue with very specific, helpful instructions and prescription. Of secondary importance was the comfort of the surroundings. Very nice, new offices, exam rooms very clean, helpful, friendly, very competent staff. The only negative was a somewhat long wait, but not as bad as some I've experienced. 5 stars well deserved in my opinion.
