The doctor himself is excellent -- knowledgeable, professional, and I've been very happy with the quality of care I received during my visits. Unfortunately, the office staff and office policies significantly detract from the overall experience. My most recent appointment was canceled without my consent because I did not respond to a text message. Text messages are not my preferred or most reliable form of communication, and I was never informed that failing to reply to a text would result in an automatic cancellation. No phone call. No voicemail. Just a canceled appointment. I find this to be a poor and inflexible business practice, especially for a medical office where patients may reasonably expect more traditional or reliable forms of communication. Canceling appointments solely based on unanswered texts -- without confirmation by phone -- is frustrating and disrespectful of patients' time. It's unfortunate because the doctor is very good, but the office policies and administrative handling need serious improvement. Until that changes, I can't confidently recommend this practice.

Dr. Kirkconnell did an eye exam and got my daughter's prescription wrong and my insurance won't cover another visit. We are now at visionworks and her prescription is definitely different from what he got.

I found Dr. Kirkconnell's staff to be prompt, personable and professional. I had a new onset problem and the staff worked me in within 3 days. Dr. Kirkconnell patiently and thoroughly discussed my eye issues and navigated toward solutions which took into account my occupation and lifestyle. He is very concerned about making sure my vision needs are not only met, but that I'm happy with the results.

Great experience with Dr. Kirkonnell and staff! This is my second visit to have a checkup and both this, and my previous visit, were great. Dr. Kirkconnell was very thorough and reassuring about an eye issue I was having. I have a follow up visit scheduled in 6 months.

His staff was amazing, very kind and communicative and able to get me in on short notice for a routine eye exam. Dr. Kirkconnell, however, was rude and patronizing to me. Would not recommend.
