On a busy Saturday morning, I broke the nose piece of my glasses. I called Burleson Eye Care at 9:56a asking what my options were since they closed at 12p. They returned my call at 10:20a saying that I could drop them off and their tech would have a look at them to see if they could be fixed and they'd call me. I arrived at 11:15a to drop them off and asked if I could have a disposable pair of contacts to get me by. I was told "no" since I hadn't had a recent exam. I informed them that I still have the contacts that they gave me from a year ago (the ones you're only to wear for a day and then throw away, I kept them in case of emergency), but because they're old, they're not ideal. They still refused. Fine, blurry vision it is until Tuesday, since they close at 12 and would be closed Sunday and Monday.
Tuesday, they opened at 9am, I called at 9:27am, "Have you been able to look at my glasses?", "No, we have to talk to the doctor and he is with patients". They called me at 1:36 pm, "Your glasses have been repaired and are ready to be picked up". Shocking (because they never called me to tell me what was going to be done), but wonderful news! I arrive at 4:30 pm to pick up my glasses and notice scratches on my lens near the nose piece they replaced. I ask, "Why are my lens scratched?". They answered, "The nose piece on these glasses can't be replaced without scratching the lens." I replied, "So rather than telling me that you can't fix the glasses, you fix the part that I broke, but then did your own damage?! How does this get fixed?" To which they said, "We'll have to check with the doctor." I then left the office for another day of blurry vision with only year old daily-contacts to get me by.
Wednesday, they opened at 9am, I called at 10:38 am and was told, "No, we have to talk to the doctor and he is with patients". I called again at 2:17 pm and was told, "No, we have to talk to the doctor and he is with patients". I got a return call at 3:10 pm saying, "The doctor says that the scratches on the lens caused by the tool cannot be repaired. We did you a favor by replacing the nose piece, even though you were out of warranty because we knew you needed your glasses." To which I replied, "No, you said you would call me. You didn't. You chose to make a repair that you knew you couldn't make without causing more damage. And are now leaving me without the chance to have made the decision and now having to be out $500 since I now need new glasses. I'll be up there tomorrow, in person, and I'd like to speak to the doctor, whether he is with patients or not, since he's the one making these decisions. This is not okay."
Thursday, I stopped by the office at 2:30 pm. Walked in and gave my DOB, tech handed me my glasses (clearly having seen my truck pull into the parking lot), I laid them on the counter and said "They're still damaged." Tech said, "As I said yesterday, the damage was caused by the tool when replacing the nose piece." I said, "Okay, I'd like to speak to the doctor." Tech replied, "He is with patients and is aware that you were stopping by. You cannot see him. I'm now asking you to leave." I replied, "The parking lot and lobby are empty. I'm not leaving without speaking to the doctor.". She then said, "If you do not leave, I will call the cops." To which I said, "I'm not leaving without speaking to the doctor.". Receptionist called the cops and I took a seat in the lobby. I was either going to speak to the doctor or I was also going to be on record with the cops about the situation. A few minutes later, the cops arrived. I stepped outside with two of them, gave them my ID and a detailed timeline of events, starting with Saturday morning. After speaking with me, they went inside to get their version of the story (they also did not get to speak with the doctor, because "he is with patients"). A few minutes later, they came back outside and advised that I file a claim against this doctor and his office for my damaged property and gave me an incident report number to accompany it, due to their poor business practices.
Be advised- do not go there! If you read my reviews over the years, you know I do not give out bad reviews. We have been going to this eye doctor for years with out incident. My husband left a poor review (3-stars) after trying to get my daughters glasses corrected because they did not follow through on a service.
At the next appointment for my daughter, the Dr. met them in the lobby stating they could not be seen because of the 3-star review. The Dr. did not call to try to clarify the situation or apologize. He was visibly and verbally upset over the review and told my husband and daughter to leave.
No worries. We won't leave a 3 star review again. I wish I had an option of zero stars, so single star it is. Their 1 star reviews almost match their 5 star reviews, it makes you wonder... Be advised- do not go there! I have now read the reviews and wished I had done so earlier to avoid this mess!
I recently took my mother to Steve at Burleson Eye Care for a diabetic eye exam, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and professionalism we experienced. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making my mother feel comfortable and at ease.
The eye care professionals were not only highly knowledgeable but also showed genuine empathy and understanding of my mother's condition. They took the time to explain each step of the examination process, ensuring that my mother felt informed and reassured throughout. Their sympathetic approach truly made a difference, and we felt confident in the care she received.
The facility itself was clean, modern, and equipped with the latest technology, which further added to our positive experience. We are grateful for the exceptional service provided by Burleson Eye Care and highly recommend them to anyone in need of compassionate and professional eye care.
I've gone here for years, they're always kind and helpful. I'll often run out of contacts before my yearly visit and they're always quick to help with eye glasses repair or to give replacement contact lens to help get me to my annual appointment. And the Dr. is always knowledgeable, well-mannered, and prompt!
As far as an eye exam, this office is above and beyond, better than what I have experienced with an ophthalmologist. And Dr B is very knowledgeable as well. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. I've never had to wait for my appointment, but do recommend being early.
