BEWARE! I have never written a negative review; but I feel I should warn others. I went to Better Vision Eye Care for several years. I saw a different doctor before. The optometrists in the office and all the staff seem very nice. However, be aware that you need to check with your insurance for billing information when dealing with Dr. Naveera Farooque. And I would also get a second opinion. After my incident, I think I was scammed. I saw this doctor in April 2024 and June 2024. Upon trying to go to her for a follow-up visit in December, I learned she WAS NOT BILLING MY INSURANCE and overcharging me, directly. I was told by their office that Dr. Farooque handles her own billing. My insurance called her to tell her what my copay should be; but Dr. Farooque kept insisting I pay the higher amount. I wanted to stick with Dr. Farooque because I trusted this office and was told I had an issue in my eye that could cause me to go blind. However, because she would not agree to the amount my insurance told her my copay should be for the follow-up visit, I went to a different optometrist. In January, that optometrist did not see a serious issue with my eye! She saw the same issue; but did not think it was as serious as I was told. I told her I had been told this was serious and asked to be referred to a retina specialist so I could be sure. The retina specialist saw the same "condition"; but did not see a dire issue with my eye (or anything that could cause me to go blind)! So now, I see that Dr. Naveera Farooque over-dramatized the condition in my eye, to have me keep coming back, and was not billing my insurance in April or June so that she could over charge me for a "serious condition" I didn't even have! My insurance company has contacted Better Vision Eye Care several times to let Dr. Farooque know that I am owed a refund of close to $385 for April and June (because SHE DID NOT BILL THEM within the 90 days/meet her contractual obligation). My insurance was fully aware that my deductible was not met in April and June 2024. I and my insurance was aware of that when they called Dr. Farooque's office in December (before my follow-up visit). Doctor Farooque still tried to charge me more than what the insurance told her I should have to pay for a co-pay. Several letters have been sent to the doctor stating I am owed a refund. From December (before the "follow-up" visit) until today, my insurance has called their office numerous times and I have spent, literally, 8 hours and 16 minutes on the phone with my insurance company (going through their "process"). In December, I and my insurance called their office 5 times trying to get the amount for the follow-up agreed on and to try to get a claim going for the April and June amount (since the doctor did not bill my insurance within 90 days). To date Dr. Farooque has still not refunded the money, continues to blame this on "the 2024 deductible" (which has nothing to do with her not billing my insurance nor her overcharging for her services). She sent me an email last week blaming this mess on her second location being out of network. However, my insurance company confirmed today, that is not true. She has dragged this out for three months. I would not recommend this optometrist office. Not only do I now think I was scammed out of money, but for several months, I was also fearful I would "go blind". The lack of respect for me during all of this and dismissiveness to "patient care", is what I'm most disappointed about. I trusted this office. I don't know what it is; but something is very wrong here. And I just don't want anyone else to go through what I am going through. It's not at all about the money. For me, it's about "principal" and doing what's RIGHT. That is the only reason I'm taking the time to post this review. Nobody should have to go through this much just going to an optometrist for an eye-glass prescription. I don't want anyone else to go through this.

I have been seeing Dr. Farooque for all my eye care needs. Most recently, I came to her for my yearly diabetic eye exam. The exam itself, was very thorough and included a scan of my retina, to make sure there were no problems with the retina or surrounding blood vessels. Then, Dr. Farooque checked both my eyes with various instruments. After all this was done, Dr. Farooque went over what she found with the retina scan and the checkup in general. Front desk staff were welcoming and efficient in getting me started. All in all a great experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Farooque for either your regular eye exam or medical eye exam.

She is awesome. My eye problem is big and not a single Doctor before knew how to make it better like she has! She also goes over the overall health which some other doctors dont even care
