I have had the good fortune of being a new patient at Lotus Eyecare this year and have had a stellar experience from the moment I walked in the door. Dr. Sophia Malani and her entire staff treated me with the utmost kindness and compassion on each visit. I have astigmatism and have never been able to find contacts that served me well. Dr. Malani spent so much time trying different prescriptions and allowing me to go home and "test drive" each one for about a week until we fine-tuned it and were able to find the perfect one for me. I highly recommend this practice if you are seeking a highly trained professional to care for your eye health.

Called yesterday and spoke with someone by the name of Z.. apart from not using actual name professionally which I really didn't care about, I provided all my information to this clinic as well as a couple other clinics and simply asked pricing on eye wear which then I was completely shut down. Already having my exam paperwork completed from a different clinic, my expectations were to provide it to Lotus Eye Clinic to be able to order eye wear (certain eye contacts) that they exclusively have. I was told the primary Indian doctor has a strict policy of providing an exam before moving forward due to "time share" even though I already had my recent paperwork.. I still proceeded to move forward in setting an appointment kind of disappointed I would have to pay for another eye exam in less than a week lol. So TODAYYY I called and spoke with Sarah to inform her I would like to know how much the contacts were. She mentioned she already told me which never did happen. So I asked for clarification on the price of the contacts not the exam as a reminder (even though I know Indidnt forget I was never told). She then stated to me "okay please hold" and proceeded to hang up the phone on me while I was on hold?? I tried calling back but no answer. I even took it a step further and asked a friend to swing by the place since I previously resided in Frisco knowing people in the city and was confirmed that they are not busy.. still at this point not even a call back? The place already gave weird vibes when time share was mentioned letting me know the main doctor is implying/forcing an exam to be done with them before proceeding with anything else prioritizing staff pay than taking care of clients.. in my case just trying to buy some contacts. Incense smells or strong odor. I currently live a couple hours away from home so I just wanted clarity with communication on pricing of the contacts so after I'm forced to do a exam, I am not surprised by a contact price that I can not afford since they are specialized contacts meant for my eyes not normal contacts. [ENDED] In response to the reply from owner. You guys keep calling me past hours of operation even today past 8pm.. now 8:45 pm. They are not special contacts. Just colored contacts I was told that were available not air optics or dailies. Simply asked for an estimate on pricing what it should not exceed. The desire for insurance information I made clear I could provide upon walk in or appointment but wanted to know the estimate price out of pocket so I know what to expect. Your professional response is clear and respected although your associates know what they were doing over the phone. Wednesday I called one time to see if I needed to cancel or if the price was right for me or reschedule to a day when I get paid if it was more than expected. Sarah told me to "hold" then proceeds to hang up so that was the inadvertent way of cancellation. I didn't call today thinking Sarah cancelled when she hung up on me. Look, to be quite frank and cut through the Chase, I record every call using another device for my own concerns. If needed I can email or post it here? It would include pictures too the many phone calls that followed after Wednesday including past your hours of operations. So respectfully I understand your policy and response given here to share with me and whomever views these reviews but what happened over the phone can't be justified. I wasn't asking or demanding any prices. I didn't disrespect anyone over the phone. It's just a matter that if I was an older man of different prospectus your associates would have took the call with care but since I'm a "nobody" to people like this how I was handled or treated doesn't matter. It felt like over the phone the two individuals by the name of Z and Sarah, were focused on trying to passively rage bait me for energy or something rather than having smooth communication.

I'm new to the area and needed an eye exam. As far as first impressions, the place is very esthetically pleasing, and the displays had lots of choices! I felt the staff was very helpful and answered my questions with insurance before my exam. Dr Malani is very knowledgeable and didn't seem to rush my exam. Z at the front desk helped me pick glasses, and since I needed my first pair of progressives, I was a little overwhelmed. He explained the difference of lenses and coatings, also explained my copays, and what insurance covered for specific choices. Overall I love my glasses and have sent a few others to their business. Great quality and great place!!

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Sherry Cui and Sarah they were so helpful, kind, patient with me. I got contacts for the first time through them and would definitely recommend getting them through this office. They went through everything with great detail and took time to answer all my questions.

Optometrist was nice. Hands down absolute worst customer service I've ever have experienced in my life. Front employee (Zee) was an absolute nightmare, attitude and confrontational. I will stay away. Get your eye vision service here at your own risk. Also, price out your glasses through Warby Parker or Zenni where it's much MUCH cheaper.

Dr. Melani and Z took advantage of my elderly grandmother. $500 for what? A glasses frame that breaks when you pick it up? Shame on you and your business. I wonder, do you feel proud and content with yourself when you think about the care you provide your customers and the elderly? Would you turn a blind eye if a relative were to have a similar experience since you clearly don't care a single bit? It's a shady, deplorable, and disgraceful. I truly hope the other optometrists in the area gain the customers you lose due to failing them. Not just my family, but any others who were failed and taken advantage by your business.

I am beyond disappointed with this business. I found the front desk manager to be absolutely terrible. He went by the name Z and treated me so poorly I left and will not be returning. I had hoped Dr. Melani would be helpful, however her attitude towards me was no better. Customer service was poor. If you come here I do hope you have a better experience.

Lotus optical I hope this review is effective at warning the next customer who decides to bring their buisness to Lotus Optical. *Customer beware* *Elderly Beware* My 70 year old mother, who has never needed prescription glasses until now was swindled into swiping her credit card for upwards to $561. Yes. $561 Mind you she is on a very fixed income. Upon checking out, the manager Abdul "Z" with no hesitation swiped her CC without even once explaining to her how (on a fixed income) she could lower her total, she was not provided any options, no receipt or prescription. She was given an exam, charged an outrageous amount, then sent on her way. Abdul "Z" upsold her to which my mom, unfortunately trustingly paid believing this was her only option and a necessary purchase. Less than 8 hrs later when my mom called to ask Z to please stop the transaction, she now understood she was charged for frames and options she did not need, she was told absolutely NO. She now knew she could buy the glasses for a fraction of the cost and had hoped for an understanding refund. Myself and my husband visited Lotus Optical along with my mother the very next day for an explanation to the upselling that was charged and never given permission to do so however this did not happen. I suppose it's easier to claim we were there to "intimidate"rather than the real reason which was for support. I love my mother dearly, she was taken advantage of. Nobody deserves that. This man is intimidating, this man yells, he is unprofessional, he's practicing shady buisness and is taking advantage of customers and over charging them. In the end after a horrible confrontation which should have been an easy conversation with Dr. Melani, the front desk worker, and manger Z we got nowhere. She then proceeds to say, " Ma'm im gonna ask you to leave and I will give you a refund." I ask you, Why could you not do this in the first place? Why after hearing what your own manger has done, understanding the circumstances would you a doctor appreciate the good buisness my mother was bringing to you and in good faith do the right thing by refunding her money OR better yet give her a more affordable option? Dr. Melani you stood next to a man, who has gotten reported on before, yelled at your customers, took advantage of my mother, and you asked US to leave. Shame on you. I believe You've lost sight of what honest customer service should be. Quality patient care and most importantly, trustworthy buisness. May that not happen to a loved one of yours or anyone else's at your establishment. Respond with your apology. Claim that you were not in the wrong, support a nasty man who I imagine continues to be employed by you for god knows what reason. Luckily the many competing optometrist around the corner who know how to treat the elderly now has our buisness.
