RGV Family Eye Care

If I could give 0 stars I would. Dont get your eyes checked here. I went for a regular eye exam and they insisted that they needed to bill my medical insurance. They made me pay cash and still refused to give me a copy of the prescription. When I got there I told them that I didn't want to share my medical insurance information because I was there for eye exam and knew that they are out of network . I also told them only need eye exam and they still insisted that what I had done was a medical visit not an optometrist visit. I felt targeted until I over heard them doing the same to an elderly couple who was there for an eye exam as well. Please go somewhere else and save your time and benefits. When I brought this up to the billing staff they only replied with, "well I don't know what to tell you because im not the one who helped you. I still need your medical insurance and if it's not provided it's going to be very expensive because your self pay." Seriously just go somewhere else.

Both me and my daughter were given incorrect prescriptions. I had trouble seeing with the prescribed contacts and went back and asked for my previous prescription (from another doctor). The optometrist was very rude to me because I was questioning his judgement. They told my daughter she needed time to adjust to her glasses. My daughter sees worse with her glasses than without them so she can't even use them. We wasted hundreds of dollars on a pair of glasses for her that she can't even use and now she still suffers in class unable to see well. Avoid this place!

I scheduled an appointment with them not knowing they were located in the local mall. I never wanted an appointment in the mall because those places are incompetent. They also told my husband that an optomat exam was required in order to get contacts in the office but when i called back questioning the charge they told me it was optional and my husband consented to it. DO NOT GO HERE! NOT WORTH THE MONEY! A $307 eye exam that is totally not worth that price. The doctor is not that great. If I could give zero stars I would.

If i could give them 0 stars i would. First doctor prescribes a specific brand contacts. (which are his brand by what i understood) I get charged more because of that and their excuse is i didn't know and their nothing they can do. When you walk in here ask about everything being done because they will literally charge you anything extra they can. I felt cheated walking out of there. Will never recommend this place. I should have maybe paid about $50 walked out paying more than $100.

They prescribe a weird brand of contact that the doctor has personal shares of to get a double profit off of you. Makes it difficult to get a prescription filled elsewhere. It wouldn't even be so bad if they were to just suggest it, but if you ask for the prescription as a general one, they will stall you and try to prevent you from getting it unless you show up in person, and will still push for you to not get the prescription. Profit seeking and not good customer service, avoid this place, now located in the target parking lot instead of the mall, and get your prescription from doctors who aren't trying to drain you for all you and your insurance are worth.

This place is a joke. They don't carry any contact lenses sample for you to try. The dr will write some generic and literally will have to tell the staff the brand you want. Be prepared for the most underwhelming eye exam with the most dated equipment. This place is rip off

Anger does not come close to describe my experience....I would not recommend them ever... in fact they took my joy away from my new glasses.....liars.
