I return every year to Houston Eye Associates because of the whole experience. Dr Justus Thomas is very thorough with eye exams and explaining the after care. He listens to my concerns and is genuinely kind and very professional. He's awesome!
The staff is very professional and communicated well. On the day of my appointment the front desk personnel was dealing with a new software system which can be challenging in the beginning but they maintained their professionalism. Kudos to all the staff!!

had a very disappointing experience. After waiting nearly four hours, I learned during the vision check that I could not see from my left eye, which was extremely concerning. When the doctor came in, the visit lasted only a few rushed minutes. He did not address my questions about urgency or next steps and left the room while I was still speaking, without any clear conclusion. I initially thought he would return, but instead I was left with the assistant, who was unable to answer most of my concerns and simply advised me to call back if needed. The entire encounter felt impersonal and inefficient, and more business-focused than patient-centered. I left feeling like a number rather than a patient receiving attentive care.

Dr. Chen is one of the best Dr.'s i have seen. She is very intelligent and very through. She has help me along with my diabetes making sure my eyes are well cared for. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone have eye problem because of their diabetes.

I had cataract surgery at Houston Eye Associates. The biggest issue was not the doctors but the office system. I found it difficult or impossible to get clear answers about appointment times or purposes. I also could not get appointments scheduled around my work hours, for their office staff was inflexible with scheduling. I could not reach an office person who had answers to the purpose of the next appointments or could reschedule them for me. As to the cataract surgery, it went well......on the first eye. The second ended with some mild but persistent discomfort that has never gone away. In a follow up appointment I saw the doctor in the hallway and asked if I could ask a brief question. He bluntly said "No" and kept walking. I can only assume that whoever owns the place has squeezed the office procedures so that they are not very patient friendly. i plan to go to one of the other eye companies to find out about my eye discomfort, and I do not recommend Houston Eye Associates.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with this medical center. I scheduled a free LASIK consultation and ended up waiting for over an hour. Later, I booked the surgery with Dr. Thomas, who was very kind. However, on the day of the procedure, they canceled my appointment two hours before and rescheduled it for the following week.
The day before the rescheduled appointment, I called to confirm--since no one had reached out to me--and they told me I wasn't even on the schedule. At that point, I had to look into another clinic, where I ended up receiving much better conditions. Much later, they called me again to say they could fit me in the next day, but by then I explained that the way I had been treated felt very disrespectful.
During the two or three weeks I was in contact with them, I was never able to reach the coordinator. I left many voice messages and never received a call back. They are truly very disorganized and not respectful toward patients. I'm disappointed I had such a negative experience because the doctor himself had been great, but the administrative staff leaves a lot to be desired.

Dr. Garcia and his staff are awesome. From the moment you check in til you are ordering your new glasses everyone is very kind. The most important thing I think everyone should know is that Dr. Garcia and his staff LISTEN to you. I have an astigmatism but have a very difficult time wearing glasses that correct this because they make me feel unsteady. Dr. Garcia listened to me and makes adjustments that helps me and betters my vision.
