The professionalism at this office is unheard of. The care and concern that Dr. Rachel Gelman and her staff have shown my mom is much appreciated. My mom had cornea transplant 8 months ago. The surgery was extremely successful and my mom's vision continues to improve day by day. Also a shout out to her office staff the friendliest people. One last shout out to her assistants, always made my mom feel see and heard. I loved this experience. Highly recommended Dr. Rachel Gelman.

Dr. Gelman, an exceptional and highly knowledgeable physician, answered all my questions and made a significant positive impact on my life. I've struggled with my vision since childhood and have always relied on glasses or contacts with high prescriptions.Upon entering her office, I was greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service from all the staff, which made me feel welcome and at ease. During my consultation with Dr. Gelman, she demonstrated remarkable cooperation and helpfulness. She addressed my concerns about my vision and suggested ICL surgery. She explained the procedure in detail, outlining the steps involved and what to expect.I had the ICL procedure done by Dr. Gelman, and she made me feel at ease throughout the process. A few days after the procedure, I noticed a significant improvement in my vision, with both eyes seeing clearly. I didn't experience any complications, and Dr. Gelman kept a close eye on me to ensure any minor discomfort was addressed promptly. I fully trust her expertise, and if anyone is considering a similar procedure, I highly recommend Dr. Gelman. I'm truly thankful for what she has done for me, and it's such a life changing experience I would never forget about.

I had lens replacements in February of 2025, about 10 months ago. My appointments prior to the two procedures were fine, and I followed all the care instructions for both eyes hoping to see well afterward. Now I can see far and near, which is great compared to before the procedures. On my last two follow-up visits, I let them know that I still see halos at night. I was told to use eye drops. My initial understanding was that halos are normal after the procedure and should go away within weeks, if not a couple of months. On both occasions, I did not see Dr. Gelman; I saw the person who previously quit and the current replacement person who checks your vision after the procedure. Now, ten months after the procedure, I still see halos at night. Due to this persistent problem, I have another scheduled appointment sometime in 2026. I have two main problems: I still see halos after all this time, and a permanent fix has not been provided. Why do I have to pay for these appointments when they should have been follow-up appointments to correct an ongoing problem that continued after the procedures? I was going to write my review shortly after the procedure, but I decided to wait since I was seeing halos. Now that it has been many months and the problem has not been corrected, I am providing my experience at Gelman Vision. I am disappointed with the care that Gelman Vision provided me so far, I would not recommend their services.

I underwent Cataract surgery with Dr. German. I just had my final check up and can't believe the results of the surgery. I now have 20/20 vision, I can drive at night without having the halos from the oncoming cars bothering me. Dr. Gelman has a wonderful staff that are friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr Gelman, if anyone needs Cataract treatment.

My wife has suffered many years from dry eye syndrome. After consulting too many ophthalmologists to count, we were told that she should be referred to a cornea specialist in San Antonio, as there were supposedly none with this specialty in the RGV. However, some research revealed that there was a cornea specialist in McAllen in the person of Dr. Gelman, who has turned out to be the epitome of professionalism. Dr. Gelman has neglected no possibility in trying various remedies in treating my wife. And - FINALLY- we are seeing progress and light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, thanks to the dedication of Rachel Gelman, M.D.

Dr.Gelman is fantastic very informative answered all my questions very matter of fact. From what I got from her she wants the best for her patients will give you options consider your options will give you the best resources. Please contact know some reviews view her "matter of fact" approach can rub patients the wrong way. She's just trying to do her job she's very blunt n she is seeing multiple people give her grace.
