I wish I can give NO stars! The staff are horrible!!! This one lady taking co-pays was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! another elderly patient before me had walked out so upset without being seen because she had been there 3 hours waiting! The office has no consideration for the patients. They are very unprofessional! When you think of Ghetto staff, its them. Don't go here!!! Don't waste your time. They're plenty of other options. Huge mistake! I wonder if the Doctor knows how his staff talks to patients?!
They cancelled my 7:30 am appointment (they only open at 8AM for an info) twice due to their specialist's personal health or whatsoever and their bunch of pretending professional front desk ladies said that they had called all of those having appointment that day about the cancellation. I told them I never got a call not even a missed call. They showed me their check off list of people they called including my name on it, what a cheap way of making excuses of their lousy service. This time I forgave them. They rescheduled me few days later with the same early time 7:30am. I came at 7:15am, then the lady (later I found out by the way she served me that she needs to take a very basic course of being in the front office) opened the door. Me and an old lady entered and sit in the darkness of waiting room, and we were told that the docter was no longer practicing and that they had called people it. Did I ever got the call? Of course not, and you already know the very common answer of those who don't know how to work "we cannot do anything about it".... yes u can, fire your employees that can destroy your business or get resign and you'll probably get respected.
I called the office the day before my appointment to confirm and make sure I had correct address of office since I have never been to location before. Woman who picked up the phone was very rude when I asked her to repeat the address as I was unable to understand her the first time. She then hung up the phone before I could ask my next question. It bothered me a lot to be treated like that.
I'm not going to spend my money with a business that has such low regard for a customer. I scheduled a new appointment with a different doctor where the phone reception was very pleasant and a lot more professional. I also got a better deal moneywise!
I tried calling the office back around lunchtime (11:40am) to cancel my appointment, as a courtesy (something that they had NOT shown me) and was placed on hold for several minutes only to be hung up on again. I immediately called back AGAIN, was told to call back after one o'clock and rudely informed that everyone was at lunch then got hung up on again.
Seriously. Why should I call you back? So you can hang up on me again?
So tomorrow, when I'm a no show for my appointment. You all can KMA. Have a nice day.
On a day when no other doctor was open, Dr. Gillette made the effort to see me due to the emergency nature of my condition. Dr. Gillette is an extremely patient, kind, and knowledgeable doctor. Never have I encountered such a quality doctor- to rush over to care for a complete stranger! He healed me in just days- and knew exactly what to do. I understand if other reviews speak badly about the front (their office is VERY busy! Why? Because the doctor is awesome!) Definitely worth the wait.
A 5-star A+ ophthalmologist!
Dr. Gillette's "office" is actually a clinic. The clinic handles 25-40 patients at a time. As a result the visit is very much a "cattle call" where your name is shouted out for each step of the "exam" process. I get "called" and returned to the crowded waiting from 6 times.
With hundreds of "patients" per day the office staff tries to be friendly but with all the necessary paper shuffling and working with insurers it's a loosing battle. By 11:30 am the reception staff was getting short on patience.
The medical "tech" staff was another thing altogether. I worried with three techs, and they were all pleasant and professional. The young man that did the majority of my exam was very skilled and was paid under $15 an hour. At the end of the exam my eyes were dilated and I was again hustled to a waiting area for twenty minutes or so. A tech bounced between the dilated patients and as they became "ready" they were seated in an exam room to await "the doctor." After another short wait, Dr. Gillette came in and examined my eyes. The doctor was pleasant, efficient but not hurried. His assistant stayed behind and explained the result of my exam and gave me my prescription. She walked me out to the cashier to pay and two hours and forty-five minutes later I was out the door with my prescription.
Altogether, the process wasn't a bad experience. If you're not used to clinics or can be off-putting. Will I use Dr. Gillette's clinic again? Yes.
NO STARS.
I had an appointment today but you have to wait in line outside on a 106* weather until you get called. my daughter kind of fainted outside due to the waiting.employee said that they cant do nothing about it to help.cause they can let that many people in.and also they didnt have any water to offer. I feel for all the patients that have to wait outside for a long period specially the older people.
Bad experience the girl in front at the door as you walk in was rude bc I told her I had an appt. And she said they make 4 appt. Per 15 min. So I had to wait. Can you imagine? I waited 3 1/2 hours to see the dr. And he was In the room for 1 minute. You get treated like a number "next" no greeting, no smiles, no nothing. Ugly place the only reason I stayed was bc it was the only place I could get an appt soon. Other places I had to wait a month.
I would have given NO stars if possible!!! Despicable staff and Doctor. They should take into consideration people's needs and feelings. I guess, they never learned to treat others as they would like to be treated. Dr. Gillette was in consultation with us for less than 3 minutes (actually timed), never asking if we had questions. When we asked staff if the Doctor would return, we were sternly told he would not. They said he had 12 other patients to see within the hour. Which literally means he has 5 minutes to spend with each patient without any stops or time to talk or walk. We we're dismissed from his care on our first visit for trying to speak with him. With eyes dilated, we were told to leave. When we asked for "sunglasses" to protect our eyes, we were told no. One of the staff followed us outside and made it a point to say outloud, "You don't need any." Then we asked why others were given "sunglasses" and we were not. The staff person who followed us outside didn't give a reply and walked back into office. The Doctor is a total fraud and is probably committing fraud with insurances. We will definitely be reporting him to my PCP, my insurance, and the state.
