RGV Family Eye Care Dr. Landon L. Liska

My twins and I have been going to Dr. Liska for about 14 years now. I had an appointment on 02/18/2026 to get some new contacts. At the visit I told him I couldn't see out of the center of my right eye and informed him my mom had macular degeneration. He immediately said we need to run some other tests to see what's going on with your right eye. Thank goodness I went to see him and he did the testing. His tests showed I have grey matter in behind the macula and fluid in there as well. He also advised me to take Occuvite everyday to save my good eye. He has referred me to a retina specialist who he will be working hand in hand with to hopefully save as much of my eyesight as possible. I definitely recommend Dr. Liska to anyone. The office staff is very polite and helpful as well.

Awesome service. Dr Liska is very professional and attentive. The entire staff is very caring. The girl doing some of my eye exams was very patient and answered all of my questions. The ladies at the front desk always smiling and and had a great attitude.

If you plan to see this doctor, be prepared to provide your social security number; otherwise, you won't be seen. I would have felt more comfortable if the office didn't have patient files piled up on the floor and jammed in cardboard boxes, which made me question their security. Additionally, it would have helped if the staff had offered a clearer explanation as to why they required both my AND my spouse's social security numbers, rather than just repeating, "it's office policy." A little more transparency, and a brush up on customer service skills, would have made me much more at ease with sharing my information.

I don't know if it's standard procedure but the office waited till the day of my daughters appointment to verify insurance and according to them, she is showing a Primary whom I'm no longer enrolled with and denied seeing my daughter. I took all the measures to ensure she could be seen the day of the appointment by calling her current insurance plan, BCBS, and the eye vision departments for each insurance whom all verified that we are no longer enrolled or showing that specific primary insurance. Office denied me the opportunity to sign a waiver acknowledging that I make myself reliable for payment if her insurance does not go through. My daughter missed school for this. Please do better!

Dr. Liska is very good & professional. Have been his patient for years now. He is thorough and honest about your vision. They also do great work with frames & lenses and will work with insurances to maximize your benefits to fit your needs.

This would be my last year going to Dr Liska, I was very happy with the lady in the front that helps with the refraction testing and dilation of my daughter's eyes. Dr recommended for me to get the glasses there, seemed a little pushy on that after I had kindly declined because of the warranty they offer on the glasses. I do go to EyeMart were they have free warranty on the frames for FREE and unlimited. And he said the workers don't know what they are doing there, mind you I have not had one complain about service or quality at EyeMart. Very unprofessional to talk bad like that about your competition. And he also said he wouldn't be able to give me a recheck on my daughter's eyes if the RX was not what she needed and if I go somewhere else. But thank you again for the ladies in the front super nice.

The optical staff, technicians and Doctors are all very professional and helpful with sorting out my eye care and eyewear needs. Dr. Liska was recommended to me by a knowledgeable OT friend of mine for oculomotor testing and training, vision exercises, and the other Doctor that works instead him on Fridays is also knowledgeable in this area. I learned the hard way by trying to buy cheaper lenses for progressive bifocals elsewhere, that I needed their top tier lenses. The optical staff was extremely helpful with me yesterday (as always) and I can trust they will always get me the great result I need. Thank you all!

This was a great experience! Everyone was so professional we got in rather quickly and all the eye exams were very thorough. The doctor has a great bedside manner and we're glad we found them!
