I gave this place a try because I had switched insurance and this place accepted the new insurance and had decent reviews. The appointment takes about 2 hours so do beware of that if you are a new patient. Other than that it seemed like a pretty decent place and they went over things okay during the appointment. Where I was blindsided is I was charged $130 for a regular eye check. This is with insurance, they just chose to charge more for a "contact fitting" visit when you have astigmatism. Need to say it was just a regular eye exam and they didn't do anything extra and I'm ordering my contacts from an online vendor. Never in my life have I paid that much for a contact eye exam and I have had astigmatism for almost 30 years and have worn contacts for 20 years and I go to the Optometrist EVERY year. When I asked why it was so much for astigmatism and why that isn't addressed with you before when astigmatism is pretty common she giggled and said yea that's what gets alot of people at the end with astigmatism. Just a warning on the extra fees that are charged. Also if you give them your glasses for them to measure the prescription they return them with scratches on the lenses. It did it on 3 of my kids lenses and my husband's. They won't do anything about that either.

If you can, find anywhere else in Midland to go. I had an appointment on October 3rd for an annual exam and to get new contacts. Like an idiot, I bought an entire years worth of the prescription in contacts at the front desk I was given since I had never had the problem of a prescription not working before, completely my fault. When they arrived they were a different prescription I was given. I called and explained this and that I'd like to make a follow up appointment for another exam as I was still having vision problems and for contacts and was told the person (Mary) I needed to talk to was on lunch and that I'd get a call back from her by the end of the next day. I never got a call back nor was I able to make another appointment over the phone until I called over and over again for days straight. After the 5th attempt calling to make an appointment, the follow up appointment was scheduled for November 21st. I show up and there was "never an appointment scheduled" and was told I was supposed to receive a confirmation text. I was directed to the contacts area and was told they were supposed to give me trial contacts before buying. The trial contacts I was given were also a completely different prescription I was given on the paper at the original appointment (apparently was the glasses prescription not the contacts), was told, or on the box of the contacts I bought. The only good experience I have had here was the man that works in the contact area as he thankfully let me return the ones I bought. I now have to find another eye doctor after nearly 2 months of being given the run around with this place while I still can not see and still have no idea what prescription I'm supposed to be in. If you want to waste your time, go ahead and attempt to make an appointment.

Contact part needs work! Went for exam for my child couldn't try on contacts because they dilated her eyes had to make appt 2 weeks later before she could get her contacts. Went to pick up her glasses and the lady was sitting on her phone but couldn't help me until my appt time. Finally appt day and they won't let you go back with your child to help her. Who's gonna help her at home!! They need to reevaluate this part of the practice. The rest of the experience was great but I don't recommend the contact department.

Dr Grigsby and his staff are great! I had an eye concern and was able to see them that same day. Dr Grigsby is so knowledgeable and knew what the issue was right away and got me on the right track with a prescription. One of the best in town!!

Dr. Grigsby at Vision Health Specialties has been my Eye Doctor for 18 years. He has always given me excellent eye care. I recommend him to friends all the time.

As transplants to the Petroplex, it was a delight to find a place with such a great experience. All of the staff are great, friendly and courteous. We met with Dr Cook and he too was wonderful. Would highly recommend Dr Cook and this practice.

Dr. Michael Pawloski discovered that I had developed cataract in my Left eye and recommended me to get that removed. Came back to him after the surgery for a follow up visit. I have noticed significant improvement in my vision. He is very good! Highly professional. I will definitely be following up with him every year on my annual eye exams

Amazing, caring, thorough eye clinic! Talked to a couple that come up from two hours away just to come to this clinic and they live in a good size town. I was impressed! Thank you for taking care of our eyesight.!
