Although I have the greatest respect for the medical doctors at this clinic, I feel an obligation to the Senior Community to alert them to what I encountered today and the need for them to check their insurance coverage before they walk into any doctor's office. At my appointment at 1:00 pm today, the girl at the glass window said she did not have my insurance ID in their computer. I did not have the appropriate ID card with me, so I had to drive back to Ennis and I called my isurance provider. I held a conference call with the eye clinic. Before anyone asked for any information, Claudia at the eye clinic voluntarily gave us my insurance ID # without either one us asking for it. Claudia apologized for their incompetency and we reset the appointment for 2:30 the same day. Again, the same girl at the window check-in and this time she wanted a $40 copay to which I told her she was wrong. Again, I traveled back home to Ennis and called my Insurance provider. She confirmed the eye clinic girl was wrong in asking for a copay and said she will call them and set them straight. Seniors, check your coverage before stepping into a doctor's office or you may get ripped off.
